You approach stall 9 to find a small crowd of people around the entrance. Making your way through you're dumbfounded by what you see - the fattest calf you've ever seen sitting on the block of the strength-test game. The owner of the stall is laughing heartily, while another man who looks similar(possibly a relation) has his hand over his face in mock dismay. It seems the calf has broken the tester - the ranker is stuck just below the bell.
With an apologetic grin you make your way forward to claim the calf on Yuzu's behalf, not looking forward to lugging the fat little thing all the way back to the pen.

Game Specific Rules:
-After the desired number of players has been reached I will PM you a character role and your Star. Please do not share your Star for no good reason.
Stars will be what your power is based on, and should be kept as secret as your powers or roles. Indeed, Stars will be what the assassin is aiming for so unless you want to make a target of yourself or help them weed out the Tenkai... :/
-Character roles will more than likely NOT match up with Star roles. This is to save people from Google lynching. ;p
- Some powers allow for a special event to occur after a lynch. These will be announced by myself in the thread and allow for some extra interaction after a lynch. Keep an eye out for these events.
- You may find items that can be used during night phases. These will not override your abilities, if you have any. That is, you may use an item (only one per night) and your ability at the same time. To use an item send me this tag in a PM during the Night Phase you wish to use it:

The word you're looking for is "Thelema", a system of magick that finds its origins in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. I can be any "religion" I want, a trait that Thelema has in common with Buddhism, but since when does Christianity get to have the monopoly on sin, Sooz? Especially since every single principle it holds was taken from heathen religions? Christ, who is just the last in a long line of hermits who got themselves crucified from Kronos to Horus to Odin. Shit, Odin even got stabbed in the side with a spear while he was hanging. Christmas, which is the Ancient Roman celebration of Brumalia, the last day of the festival of Saturnalia. Goodness me, Christianity even changed it's Sabbath from Saturday to the Pagan day of rest, Sunday. And our priests don't molest altar boys.

There are hints of Shinto and Buddhism through-out the series and some characters are confirmed as either. Others have a more Christian-themed religion, some worship the True Runes (let's face it, they can fuck up your life something horrible so why not?) and still others are based on other religious groups in the real world, including atheism, naturalism, wiccan and the other non-religions.
Religion isn't focussed as much on in the games as race and politics are, but it is touched on lightly in some aspects, such as the Sun Rune being considered divine justice (in Suikoden V).
The series as a whole basically focuses on people being the rulers of themselves and their choices being what matters most. I mean, you have these immortal people running around due to being bearers of these all-powerful runes of magic and people just lose their shit when they realise just what those runes are capable of. The minor runes in the series are all based off aspects of the True Runes, as per the origin story of magic. The True Runes are confirmed to be conscious 'beings' who deliberately meddle in the affairs of men - a bit like the Greek Gods, for an example.

I think Sooz was facetiously referring to this mafia game being in a suikoden setting...
Shinto tended to be just as viscious as Christianity in that regard. Reasons were different, but the hate was ever the same.
It would also depend on where you were brought up and how. For example, in Harmonia - Hikusaak, the bearer of the Circle Rune, is considered an almost-God, being titled "The Absolute One" due to having reigned over the country for about four and a half centuries.
Then there's the different races who all have their own religions and traditions - kobolds, nay-kobolds, mermaids, elves, dwarves, duck-people, Wingers, Beavers, Lizardmen...

Also, a lot of places don't care about mixing of races/religion/etc so I doubt you'd be killed just for that. I mean, one of the most influential women in Suikoden I was called and considered a witch and she was basically the Emperor's live-in mistress. (Also, women have power in Suikoden. Another reason to love the series.)
