Hey!
My name is BansheeSerenade, or Ashley, whichever you prefer.
Obviously, I'm new here around these parts, but I can't wait to get to know you all!
I'm 19 and Australian, I'm going to start studying writing at university next year, hopefully to either get a job writing for comics or games. Hence why I figured I'd dabble around with rpg maker so I could get a taste for the industry.
I'm currently designing a FFX demake, tweaking the story in parts. I know, I know, I'm biting off WAY more than I can chew. I've read all of the tutorials, I know it's best to start off small.
What can I say? I like a challenge.
Of course, I realise there's no way in hell this will ever be completed - I'm essentially just using it as a way to jump into the deep end and learn the ropes without needing to worry about developing a story beforehand.
Anyways, it's great to meet you all! I can't wait to become an active member of your forums ^_^

Well... since nobody did it, I'll do it.
Welcome to RMN, BansheeSerenade/Ashley!
Hope you enjoy your stay in here!

I doubt that you'll finish your demake, but I do not doubt that taking on a big project is one of the best ways you could be learning the editor. It prompts you to experiment with so many features of the editor!
Best of luck.
Best of luck.
Big projects can be very motivational - sometimes moreso than a project you view as intermidiary to get skills to tackle your Dream Project. Might be better off in the end to just try tackling the Dream! Welcome!
Sounds like you're off to a good start actually, since it'll help you learn the program.
I bit off more than I could chew too in the beginning, and it forced me to be competent enough to make games my friends could enjoy.
Keep at it and have fun; hope to see you stick around.
