FAVOURITE CLASSICAL FF TRACKS?
Posts
Classic? What about ff13? That's like so old.
I like <insert any of the same sounding songs on the album> best in ff13.

yeah, had to check out a youtube vid of the OST. And nothing really made an impression on me. It feels like... he just lazily made a sequel to FF4's soundtrack, and never really pushed any new boundries or explored any new sounds or melodies. Like, just polished off some scraps and leftovers and outtakes from his work on FF4 and called it a soundtrack for FF5
I remember reading somewhere that FFV was a structure originally designed for the NES, and the music composition and jerky attack animations support this. But it would be interesting to know if that were true or not.
My three:
FFIII: Overworld theme
FFV: Void map
FFIV: Boss Battle (Normal)
author=DudesoftFF13 is definitely not my favorite, but it had a few decent songs. The battle theme wasn't bad, and I liked The Archylte Steppe... But most of it was forgettable.

I'd like to mention that my favourite song in the entire series (and indeed one of my favourite video game tunes of all) is Underneath the Rotting Pizza:

FF10:

The rest of them, like 2, 3, 11, 12, 13, and so on, I haven’t played as of yet. As for 1 and 5, I did play them for a while back a long time ago when I was much younger but don’t really remember too much of them to give them a proper list. One of these days I’ll go back and play those games again, especially 5, because I actually enjoyed it for a little bit before I just suddenly stopped.
Also - and nobody take any real offence to this - but, IMO, listening to most of FF7 and FF8 tunes again for the purpose of doing this list, I don’t think they’ve really aged that well for me... There’s a couple of good ones in there, for sure, but a lot of them just…don’t really sound that impressive to me anymore… I guess my musical tastes over the years have changed my outlook on things.

12 has some decent music, but I don't think it's anywhere near as memorable as the earlier games. Doubt it bothered me though ( I logged over 300 hours on that game from 3 playthroughs, but eh... I was 19 back then. Tastes change ). But I do listen to the StilShrine of Miriam when designing my temple dungeons.
Well, since there are so many rebels here who made lists for the later games, I guess I'll do it to.

manliest soundtrack of the series. /*u*)/ <3
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

FFXI's got some pretty good music!
When it's not just playing silence and wind sounds, I guess. Which unfortunately is like 90% of the time.
author=LockeZauthor=JosephSeraphStill gotta play it... Gosh... Why do they take so long to allow me a credit card Q_Q

No it's not because you clearly meant to link to the real best music track of the game!

JosephSeraph you fail SUPER HARD at using the quote tag
Also FF11 is nearly unplayable by modern standards (and even by 2002 standards), just go download the soundtrack and save yourself a lot of grief.

All this negative talk about FFxi is bullshit. I'm not even going to get into why because you guys are unreasonable when you've made up your minds. You are wrong, though.
I JUST NOTICED WHAT I DID OMG AHAHAHAHA
yeah I fail pretty hard at most these things! Now, if I do this while posting imagine me trying to RGSS. Heck, imagine me trying to write down my custom formulae.
Aaaaanyway, I feel like playing both FFXI and FFXIV. I mean, I don't want to be limited to LoL for the rest of my life. >.> (yeah that's the only online game that managed to charm me) so I thought maybe a game from my favorite series ever would do the trick...
Also, DAT SONG, YEAH, I SHOULD'VE POSTED IT :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I mean, I don't even like the music. Back in 2002, I created a music hacking guide for FF11 to let people replace the music (and the wind sounds, because so many areas don't even have music) with their own custom music. I was really pissed and bitter about Uematsu not being the sole series composer any more. So I don't know why I'm now suggesting he go download the soundtrack! Weird.
You are welcome enjoy whatever games you want, though. I haven't actually played FF11 since launch, I don't know anything about the game any more, and I can't remember most of what I used to know. All I really know is that the music makes me nostalgic for subligars.
