Wow, going for a more realistic approach? I always liked anime styles that have reasonbly sized eyes.

I really like your style, Nessiah. It's very distinct, colorful, and nice to look at. It's your personal style. It doesn't seem generic at all (to me at least) and if you keep at it, you'll definitly get somethign good at it!
And to call that a fail makes me wonder what I may consider a success! I might have to review a few of my things a rethink the score I gave them!
It's good, but yeah, I'll gave to agree with you on the shading aspect. But it all comes with practice! And that is something I need to do plenty of.

I don't think I like the fade effect where the hair joins with the head. It looks kinda weird compared to the jagged lines that make up the rest of the portrait.
But other than that, this is pretty good! Probably your best to date!

This new one looks really elegant. I like the way the eyes are made, but the way the nose curves at the top, looks a bit weird to me. Tho, I still like her nose more than the previous one.

Find your own style? You? Why? What's wrong with the style you've got now? I could clearly tell that it was you who drew these pictures if I see them anywhere else! I've yet to see a style similar to yours! (Well, similar may be going too far, but definitly not EXACT.)
Also, wowza. Woza, woza, WOZA! The newest two a awesome.The eyes and the lips on the first girl are great, and really shine, adding that extra flare to the picture. I like the way you've done her hair, too. Very nice. I'm not too fond on the nose, though. She seems to have gotten a cold. =X
The second one is equally as awesome as the first. Her hair, lips, eyes, and overall face are great! The nose one settles better with me, too!

Wow @ the last 2 sketches; quite amazing. Something in particular that I love about them is that they actually do have lips, yet still drew in such a way that it doesn't cross into the realism realm awkwardly.
