WHAT DOES RPGMAKER.NET THINK OF ANIME?

I can't stand Anime, except for Hayao Miyazaki films, Attack on Titan
holy crap i forgot about AOT
I'll be frank and say that the pacing in Attack of Titan is slow (because the manga only has, like, what, 50/60 chps+ or something?) But it's a great survival anime/manga, plus the soundtrack rocks (as expected of Hiroyuki Sawano ofc). Read Black Lagoon a bit and got bored with it.
I mentioned Shingeki no Kyojin earlier as one of the anime I have to eventually watch. I get it mixed up with Shokugeki no Souma for some reason (a new anime that is coming soon, it should be pretty awesome, since the manga is really good. A little fanservice in some ways, though it's pretty equal - men and women having orgasmic episodes over the taste of food. Yes, someone made an Iron-chef-like manga. Yes, it is fucking awesome.)
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

90% of anime is terrible, but 90% of everything is terrible. The fans are terrible, but the fans of everything are terrible. I like anime when it's good.
Admittedly, for the last five years or so, it's been in a really dark place with all the fanservice. Even in the stuff that's literally just saturday morning cartoons for eight year olds, they are forced to have fanservice scenes with the female characters. You can tell that a lot of the time they just sort of shoehorn in a bath scene or something when it doesn't fit AT ALL, because a producer told them that they couldn't air the show unless it had a naked girl in it somewhere. Black Bullet is a great example - fantastic, extremely well made, ultra-serious action show, except at one point in episode 1 or 2, there's a two second dream sequence of the female lead naked in a bathtub. Why. If they just deleted out that two second clip, I could and would actually recommend the show to people who have never seen anime.
I mean, when the show is actually supposed to be erotic or pervy, that stuff is fine. Make shows that are all about fanservice, go wild. Don't put it in every goddamn show though, holy crap.
This isn't a phenomenon unique to anime. I stopped watching action movies because producers couldn't seem to help but put a sex scene in every movie.

You have a point LockeZ and it's something I pay attention to when watching an anime. Some take a really weird approach - two of the ones I mentioned earlier for example. Solty Rei and Shangri La were interesting in that respect.
Solty had a lot of close-ups (incidental ones) of certain characters' asses in latex. They also had the cleanest female cast members I've ever seen in an anime (lots of shower/bath scenes) but all were rather tastefully done and most of the time there were other things going on besides just showing them bathing (talking to a friend who was staying over in the other room and the like). That said, there was a lot of opportunity for pantyshots. So many opportunities, all over the place. But not one was shown. It was strange for an anime that didn't mind showing off the female form to draw a line at that.
Then you have Shangri La, where a lot of the main cast were women. The main character wears a skirt, but not a panty shot to be seen, even in high-action scenes. However, there was actual in-anime exposition talking about panties and how a certain guy had seen hers, but it wasn't shown on screen and he was teased about it or completely brushed off as unimportant. Add in that while there was talk about sexuality, it wasn't thrown in your face - and the main villain was a woman who excelled in her sexual prowess. I rather liked the straight-forward way it was presented. It felt... right, the way it was handled. It probably helped a lot that the main character was a badass, wasn't pimped out by the show as someone sexual or a draw for the male gaze.
Ah, that's it - the women in this anime weren't there for men to look at but as characters in their own right, so when they talked about things like panties or sex it wasn't in a way that was made fun of by the show. It was to enhance the character and wasn't a case of slapping you in the face with how much you, as the audience, would like to be with the character. The anime didn't pimp them out to the audience.
It was nice to see.
Bakuman is good for this too. There's a bit of fun poked at one character at her breast size, but the guy who does it is punished for it and it only happened once or twice in the whole 3 seasons (when they just got together). The anime gives you great insight into anime, manga and the business of, as well as having a very sweet love story and lots of interesting characters. I started reading it when it first came out and now that the anime is complete and I've forgotten most of the plot, I'm watching it and loving it to bits.

author=LockeZRosario + Vampire particularly seems to have this problem, from what I can tell. The manga's actually pretty good, but the anime is packed to the gills with so many tits scenes (particularly from... Kurumu or whatever the hell her name is) it's ridiculous. Ruined the whole thing for a lot of fans. I certainly couldn't stomach it after a while, so I stopped watching kind of early.

I haven't watched any anime show for pretty long (cuz I have to watch Griffith all the time).
I used to be Fiary Tail fan for some reason. I remember How I saw it for the first time on my sis's computer (She's MegaOtaku) and It looked really silly.
What is worth watching is Cowboy Bepop. It's great soap opera, Only finale doesn't work as it should (Manga is probably more consistent).
@Kylaile reminded me of Texhnolyze. It was probably first anime I saw and liked.
Gintama is super fun. However I've never watched it from the first episode. I saw about fifty random episodes total. It's mostly about japanese popculture references, If you know them It's twice as fun. Somebody probably mentioned this above.
GTO has the bestest openings. Teacher itself is one of the best characters I encountered in cartoons. The problem was I got bored after few episodes and never finished it.
What I am looking forward to watch in near future is Ping Pong. It has interesting style and I heard only possitive reactions about its story.

Lol Cowboy Bebop doesn't have a manga. Its rare but some anime are indeed anime originals. Also IMO Kaiba and Tatami Galaxy were much better than Ping Pong though Ping Pong was still nice (All three of those were by the same guy). Also liked Kuuchuu Buranko but I don't think that's by the same guy just similarly experimental animation. There's also Gankatsuo.

That's why more people should watch 70s and 80s anime. They had fan service back then but it wasn't all over the place and was generally classier unless it was an ova those got pretty exploitive.

Actually, It has two. But you have the truth, Anime was the original form. My persona somehow knew about the manga before the anime. I'm not sure myself which one from the wide selection of two it was though. I only had read about it in one and only czech comic magazine. There were single page about manga in each issue and usually about some classic such as naruto, metal alchemist or death note. I've never got in reading manga, so that was reason I watched this one.

Anime: Love it.
Japanese culture weird shit, like nosebleeds, panty shots, and weak female characters: hate it. I start watching anime with hate it in mind. Either amazing animation or story will make me love it.

Japanese culture really isn't as weird as people make it out to be.
author=Kylaila
Nobody here said anything about Japanese culture. Just anime culture.
Dudesoft just said Japanese culture?
author=KylailaMost people don't realize what's going on but a lot of the things people find weird in Japanese culture can actually be found in american or any other culture. We are just used to our own countries weirdness so we don't realize it.
Okay. Scrap that. Sorry^^
It really isn't that weird.
He didn't say Japanese culture is weird, but "Japanese culture wierd shit" which I took to mean "The weirdest side of Japanese culture. You know... the weird shit that gave us tentacle hentai and vore and all that crazy, weird-ass shit that make people sigh and say 'Oh, Japan. Never change you odd-ball, you.'? That weird shit in the Japanese culture." You know... just worded oddly.

I find Japanese culture interesting. For example, lolicon - it's actually meant to divert mens eyes in Japanese culture, not as a sexual thing. It infantises the women in question and makes them undisirable - it's their way of rebelling against the standards that men and society put on women to be a certain way. They choose to do it so that they can be themselves and look cute as fuck doing so - it's a style that allows for their own individuality and it's highly tied up in feminist attitudes in Japan. Western audiences see it as something sexual but it's the opposite of that - it's basically Japan's punk fashion, meant to take back the power of women by not letting men control who and what they are supposed to be like. I love the idea that they fight against the patriarchal machine by looking kawaii as fuck and rocking out that childish fashion. That's how they avert men's eyes - by equating themselves to untouchable as sex objects by being child-like (and thus, DO NOT TOUCH!!!). Isn't that interesting? You just learned something hella interesting.
Also, stop fetishising lolicon (and lolita because fuck, the words come from the same root) please. It's basically the same as fetishising hard rock or emo. Except creepier because they aim to look like kids so that you don't fucking sexualise them. :/

I do believe you have Lolita and Lolicon confused as they are two different things. Actually Lolita was a novel that was made into a Stanley Kubrick film about a young girl named Lolita who had love affairs with older men. Lolicon was a form of hentai that came out in the 80s that was probably a result of having those strict genitalia laws. As far as Lolita style though your probably right just thought that stuff was worth bringing up.
Also if you haven't seen it Lolita is a great movie especially Peter Sellers performance which is top notch as always.
