JUST STARTED!

Hello! I just started out here. I thought it would be a nice place to start here since I've recently gotten serious about learning the ins and outs of game making. I'm currently still in high school, so if I ever really get to working on a project there's no real telling of when it should be out, due to my school work coming before my games... So basically, just apologies in advance.
I've already got a few ideas, but they'll have to be put on the back burner until I can really start to put together a coherent game. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some of them finished. Do you guys have any sort of advice for someone like me, who's just really started out learning about games? Thanks, if you have any input!

Welcome!
As with everything, start small. Like really small. Make a 10-30 min game first. Use that chance to learn as much as you can of the basics. Use it to experiment and poke around. Use it to get a feel of the game making process. Of course, don't hesitate to ask questions in the forums if you stumble on problem you can't overcome.
Good luck!

Aside from starting small, I'd say get a place to store your game ideas! Even ones that seem dumb at first! Write them down, put them in Notepad, whatever seems to work best for you.
