RELEASE SOMETHING! DAY XIII

Friday the 13th is coming up and it coincides with the date of the next Release Something! Day! How 'bout that coincidence?
So, some of you might not know what a Release Something! Day (RS!D) is. Basically, it's a day where you release something - anything! - in order to get feedback from the community. There will even be a podcast covering the releases.
Now, the idea has gone through a few iterations over the years - eventually becoming more about releasing completed stuff and making a huge effort to finish things by the date. Let's not do that this time, okay? Let's focus on getting some WIPs in motion - on getting feedback on cool things that we'd like to show as part of our current games.
What kinds of things can be shown? Music, tiles, sprites, graphics of any type, gameplay (videos of gameplay tests are good), tech demos, demos. Fair enough, if you happen to finish your game in time, but don't aim for a finished product. Let the feedback work for you.
Release something to get feedback on something to improve something.
Date will be Friday the 13th. That's about a week to come up with something. Anything.
There will be a badge worth 10 MS for releasing something. Best feedback givers will also get a badge worth 20 MS. Because the feedback is what counts this time.
No need to sign up - this is just an announcement that it's coming (kinda like winter) and that you have a week til it's here (just like the Yahwg). So, get ready to release something guys!
Very true! But it can handle game submissions! and they can have achievements associated with them. And then otherwise we can use the eventpage just like a thread and edit the description or first post with other submissions

Hm... I have just a barebones prototype set up, so will I have to make a gamepage for it? Or can I just put in a file in my locker and somehow link my submission to that?
Or do you think a video would be best?

Hmm... hmmmmmm... this may be just the motivation I need to finally release something new...
BTW, it's just been back-to-back events this year! It's exciting! I dunno how y'all are managing it, but thanks :)

Depends what you want to show off. If you want to get feedback on how it plays, a locker file will be fine. If you just want to show off some gameplay elements (like a battle or menu) then video would work best. ^.^

Hm... true. I'll get on that then. Unless you'd prefer to?

Thanks! Now I just need to get Fraps working correctly.
I have something! I have a demo! I'm just replacing the RTP music with my own compositions, but I don't have to for a demo! Right?

I recommend Screencast-O-Matic. It's extremely simple to use and it works for me really well. You can set it up to upload straight to YouTube if you want too.
