No, he could work with her, its just that he wouldnt be able to work with max or gourd on that very same team again. Even changing one person on a team can have the effect of changing the dynamic quite a bit.

Whem a LockeZ/Craze was suggested, I figured that of all things would be interesting to see at some point.


while i'm not necessarily against this in the future, lockez and i have very different philosophies when it comes to both the mechanics of games and the game world itself. i'm not sure it would be very healthy!

Halibabica and Isreiri managed to pull out Super RMN World despite having very different design philosophies as well. It can work out, you just have to do the following:

If anybody out there's interested in trying their hand at a Sim RPG Maker 95 game, this would be a good opportunity.
Even if you don't know anything about the program, I'm pretty much the grand master with it and won't mind handling the majority of the grunt work if some cool ideas are put in.

i once made a custom art (battlers/characters, not map tiles) srm95 game about a bunch of gay knights fighting an evil witch.

i never want to touch that program again
It kind of felt like the original McBacon Jam had no closure; is there ever going to be, like, a retrospective of the games or anything?

I liked the game we made for the last one, but I might sit this one out; I feel like I should be working on my current game right now. That might change come September, though. I'm definitely interested in working with a bunch of people.

Would be fun but I think it should be scheduled if one wants to be planned again to be later in the summer since IGMC is probably going to be soon and everything. Also I agree with Housekeeping but McBacon did have medical issues so I understand that.

In my defense, there was the issue with my right eye, plus the march podcast kinda concluded it in a way, though if everyone stilll wants me to do a follow up for 1 and 2 after #2 ends, Ill do it, just as long as nothing else bad happens.
Yeah, I understand about the medical issue; I just wasn't sure if that meant it was delayed or just canceled altogether.

Housekeeping: Liberty did an official RMN podcast where she talked about the McBacon Jam games after the event ended, and there was an entire review event that followed dedicated to reviewing the jam games. I'm not sure how much more closure you could want.

I'm so down for this. And Pool of Randomiance sounds like a good idea. Reserves made their own 'random' team after all. And it's good opportunity for fans of random selection.
I would stick with original two weeks, so teams won't manage to make their games on time and it will be changed to three.

@Dyhalto I would like to join you on that boat, but my computer is too new for this ol blues. It lurks me, tho.

Could there be different pools of roles that people could sign up for and then a team would be randomly generated from these pools?

Example:

Member 1 signs up for: Main producer, Concept design, = ends up in pools A and B
Member 2 signs up for: Concept design, Game mechanics design = ends up in pools B nd C
Member 3 signs up for: Mapping, illustrations = ends up in pools D and E
Member 4 signs up for: audio design = ends up in pool F

Team is randomly formed from pools: A, B, C, D, E and F, or what is available.

There could be a couple of obligatory pools for each team, like main producer, concept design and game mechanics design pools, and then a bonus pool like illustrations or audio design pool.

Each team could only have 1 illustrator and audio designer, so if a member has signed for multiple roles, like audio design and main producer, for example, it would rule out another audio designer or main producer ending up in his or her team.

In other words, team would need to have:

A = 1
B = / > 1
C = / > 1
D = 1
E = / < 1
F = / < 1

a strong focus on short, tight games sounds a lot better than extending the time lol. i'd like to see rmn focus a lot more on more frequent but moderately short events that you don't feel bad about missing because there will be another one along soon. i don't know how realistic that is though!

I get the impression that we've been shifting to those sorts of events! We've had a new little contest or challenge going, like, every month this year. I like it for the same reason - if I miss one I don't gotta feel bad! If I'm working on a big project, it's probably not going to be for an event anyway (unless it's a loose event like Release Something).

Also I totes wanna have more Release Somethings ^^
I used to do Release Somethings every quarter (roughly) but then they started to get bigger than the site - in that people were holding off on releasing things until the next RS!Day, and that kind of undermined the point of the site. Plus they grew rather unwieldly to manage and cover.

badges were handed out last time for anyone that actually put something forward (even if it as just a gamepage but no game). Badges and MS are in the plans for this one as well... just wanna iron out the core aspects of this jam first before I deal with the lil things.

The thing is, I'd probably never go full random; Id take the time to understand the people in the pool and match them up with people will differing skill sets for the sake of balance, unless I had a good or interesting reason to do otherwise.
