GIVING BOSSES MORE HP

Me and my friends are starting to develop our own game using RMXP. It's still in the early planning stages, but in the meantime I figured I'd practice messing around in XP. I've managed to get a working airship, so I tried making a practice "super boss".

However, RPG Maker XP won't let me give it any more than 9999 HP. I wanted it to have more. Is there any way I could change the maximum HP limit?

Edit: Whoops, never mind. I was looking at SP and not HP.
On a side note, giving Bosses lots of HP doesn't make them harder/ better/ more fun. It just drags on forever.
I am sure there is a script for this.

Without a script there is no real legitimate way to make a boss have more than 9999 HP in XP unless you use multiple forms or whatever. So just download a limit breaker script.

Well, this boss was going to be for a secret dungeon and by that point I would expect that the main characters will be hitting for probably a few thousand damage. So in order to make the fight not pitifully short, I would increase the boss's HP.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

Open the actual script in the script folder using Notepad, look for your Superboss's HP (probably the only 99,999 on the page) and change it to whatever you wish. It worked for me and Serpentarius (175,000 + Regen for 2500 a turn). OR simply give a lot of Defense/Regen/Immunities/Recovery abilities.

If you have the beast cast a lot of drain magic and healing magic, the fight can be made longer while perhaps giving it a theme of some kind. (Maybe a god/goddess of healing such as Aesculapius/Isis/Baldur/Apollo.)

I agree with LWG! Just giving a boss tons of health won't make him stronger. It's likely to make the player less interested in the fight.

It's not like I was planning to make the fight last an hour. I just wanted to make a boss that could give a higher leveled party a run for their money. I considered just raising his defense a lot, but if you were attacking something and only did 100 damage when you can usually deal 3000 to a regular enemy, you would feel that the fight was going nowhere fast and lose interest. So I decided to keep his defense reasonable while increasing his HP to a point where the fight won't be over in only a few turns.

It is not so one sided like this. The boss has to have some degree of health in order to fit the actual fun that it has to offer that sets it apart from regular mobs. If a boss had the same hp as a slime then the players would be very dissapointed. Bosses are something the player has to brace for and not have an "Oh" expression after the fight.

Course I'm not saying that you should give a boss 230920393290 HP, but just keep in mind that HP means length, and balancing that factor is crucial to making a good boss fight. However there can be some exceptions, but we're talking in general terms.
