LIST OF PLOT TWISTS?

Posts

Pages: 1
I'm writing an RPG storyline, and I need some ideas for plot twists.

Sure there are lots of them on google but I'm looking for topics
inside RPGMAKER.NET that actually talk about this exact subject

Anyone?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

This feels just so right...

I think I'm going to adopt this idea
Grab the great list of gaming cliche's then subvert them. I recommend checking out the TV tropes page on that cliche, because they list how they were used and subverted in different shows/anime/books/comics/etc

This.

The grand list of JRPG cliches is a good read. Really funny, and it makes you stop and think "Dear GOD, these really do show up everywhere!", which helps you think of way you can play with them.

After all, tropes are not bad. They are not cliches. They are just tools. So make the most out of 'em.

You really love this thing.
1. Split the story into scenes, where each scene contains exactly one major plot development
2. Think to yourself "What is the most expected thing to happen next?" for each scene
3. Do not do the expected thing

You want something unexpected, read Game of Thrones.
It throws out a lot of preconceived ideas about what should happen in a story.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with saving the world through the power of rock and roll. It saves my life every day. Every. Fr*****ikkin. day.
Also, put "A black person that's not a stereotype appears" at the extreme left.

EDIT: "The hero is a person of color" also works.
