CloseHello, I'm really bad at these things and I'm quite shy so here goes.....I've had an account here for almost a year and this is my first time posting! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Justin and I've been meaning to get into this community for a long time. I really can't call myself a game developer now because I haven't actually finished a project (or really started one) but I do have aspirations of becoming one. I spent a long time deciding what engine to use and the type of games I wanted to make and I decided to make story driven games and I chose this particular engine because there are a lot of games I can see myself making with it. OFF, Yume Nikki, OMORI Dreaming Mary ,Kanye Quest 3030, OMORI, and Ollimio. Those are games that I can see myself making someday. I have to play these to check them out.
A lot of my inspirations come from the playstation generation of video games. I'm also heavily inspired by music (kudos to whoever knows what my avatar is from) and I want to make games that combine those influences together. I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid (Kojima is my hero), Kingodm Hearts, Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei, Borderlands, Ratchet and Clank, Mega Man (Legends 2 is my fav playstation game), JRPGs in general, and a lot of others to name. I'm also into Trading Card Games and my favorite at the moment is Cardfight Vanguard. I also like Yu-gi-oh!, Pokemon, Future Card Buddyfight, and to a lesser extent MTG. A couple of others I like that are Japan only are Z/X and Wixoss. I find that lately, TCGs have played a big influence on what I wanted to make in regards of how battle systems can be in my games. I want to see how I can incorporate that into a game as well.
I hope to actually get started making things now that I want to be part of this community. I don't have many ideas now, but I do want to focus on learning this engine and start making some small projects to track my progress. My ultimate goal with this engine is to create a game that shows up on the front page and have a team of my own. One day right?
