WHICH IS THE HARDEST FINAL FANTASY GAME?
Posts
Oh...right. FFT. How did I forget that game? That game is pretty brutal, that's for sure. FFXII Revenant Wings is also pretty nasty in several areas (FFTA2 can be nasty too with some of the missions, but it's still easier than both of those games)
i found ffta2 to be considerably harder than anything else for the first 25% of the game only but that's because I played it on hard mode and everythign one-shotted me for double my maxhp
but then I broke the game *shrug*
edit: very especially the first battle

If you struggle in FFT, there's ways of turning the game into a joke - the easiest I can think of is getting the mediator class and bolstering your brave and curbing your faith to turn your soldiers into an army of Richard Dawkins. That happen to have top of the line physical capabilities and complete immunity to magic (Chemists can do the healing just fine).

FFIV DS: I don't care how many people say this game is easy, it's just not. There's easy, and then there's bullcrap. And this version of the game has the most bullcrap of all of the versions).
Man, this x10.
Every time I raged at that game for bullshit it pulled I discovered it was something added to the remake that wasn't part of the original.
I don't think I even finished FFIV DS. I was on the last dungeon and kept Game Overing before I got fed up.
Tower of Zot, Tower of Babil, final dungeons, and one other place were all horribly upscaled in difficulty. When you first get to final dungeons, getting hit for 2-3k when you probably don't even have 1500 HP on Cecil at that time, or maybe 2k if you're grinding enough, and everyone else has less HP than that...yeah, that's bad. And that's just the normal random mooks, let's not talk about the dragons or Behemoths or other enemies. Also having the final boss deal 4000 damage to everyone instead of 2000 with his signature attack that he spams constantly isn't good either (let's not forget how much Meteor and Flare does now). ESPECIALLY since even at level 80 (which is what I beat the game at), I STILL barely had more than 4k HP on everyone, and some didn't even HAVE that much then! Just...ridiculous. And let's not talk about the DS exclusive superbosses...

You don't even have to do all that. Once you obtain the Calculator class the game is effectively unwrapped.

You get the Mediator before the calculator - it even saves you the trouble of doing elementary school math to target things.
The Mediator method takes too long, though. Spending a bunch of battles (or one really, really long one) to use those Word abilities to boost up everyone's Brave/Reduce Faith (which may or may not hit, and they do miss...often) takes a hell of a lot more time than getting one Calculator, boosting their Holy attack, buying Chameleon Robes for everyone, and proceeding to murder everything, all the time. No math needed!
I'm not saying the Mediator method doesn't work or it isn't cool, it's just that the Calculator/Holy trick requires next to no work and can literally reduce your offensive effort to one person and like, a couple turns. Using a Mediator to buff your team up is all well and good, but literally one Calculator can slam dunk the game's difficulty in the dumpster.

FF8 is really hard for me. Just such a terrible battle system and the final boss is just way too hard since she steals your junctions and can reduce your entire party's HP to 1 with Hell's Judgment.
I'm extremely surprised that people on here are saying that FF games are extremely easy. Either I'm stupid, or your just gifted at RPGs, which I'm envious of.

I'm surprised no one's made a hardest Final Fantasy to stay awake through to the end joke yet.
I think FF1 is pretty difficult, if not just for the tough-as-nails old school battle design but also because the game tells you literally nothing on where to go and it's super easy to get lost.

I actually found FF 1 to be really easy, the only thing that I couldn't figure out is where to go next. It got to points where I was grinding off fiend rematches in the choas shrine just to level up some more (when they were apparently supposed to be harder)I beat it at around level 45.....granted I did play the psp version. Is there a difference?
Everyone always forgets Mystic Quest. :< (Of course, it'd get a 3/10 on the difficulty scale. That game was easy.)

Yay!
I read a playthrough someone (it might've been you, Liberty) linked a while back with big colorful pictures (I'm still a child at heart), and it was fun and interesting.
I played the game.
No.
