4TH OF JULY PLANS

Posts

Pages: first 12 next last
So I won't be able to record for a few days now since fireworks are constantly going off in the street. I am curious as to what everyone will be up to this 4th. I hear some people vacation instead of lighting fireworks. Anyone doing anything out of the norm?

I'm visiting a friend and we are going to the beach. She misses doing that with her old friends in her hometown.

What's special about 4th of July? I'm sitting naked by my pc. Damn it's hot here.
Over in Korea, so not a big deal here, but a bunch of teachers are throwing a little party in one of the apartments. Nothing major, just a redneck themed party. Wrecking my dev schedule, but I can't complain too much about being social.

Yep sorry nothing here either other than the fact it's a Saturday so I went out.
So it is something today. It is too hot. I stay here.
I already celebrated the 1st of July.
I really can't believe that so many of you haven't even heard of people going to parties, cookouts, firework shows, etc etc for 4th of July, even if you don't participate yourself. I mean, obviously I understand the non U.S. peeps, but otherwise, seriously? Cave people?

Anyway, I'm going to to a massive party and fireworks show downtown Seattle.

For those who don't know, 4th of July is the American Independence Day, the day in 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress.

Wikipedia's pretty useful.
I'm going to eat a pig in order to prove I'm freer than the rest of the world.
I'm doing nothing. Mostly because I want to avoid all the drunk celebrators at the fireworks show tonight.
Also because I don't really care much for fireworks anyway.

I guess I'm just not very patriotic?

^ What TungeManU said.

We all know what the 4th is to US Americans, you can't have watched any US television ever without picking upon that even if you didn't learn about it in school, it's just none of us who had replied celebrate it. Since the question was what are your 4th of July plans, we told you. The 'norm' for the rest of the world is pretty much, 'erm it's Saturday, I'm doing the washing?'.

The point was when you made that post, no-one who had replied was anything other than a non-U.S. peep, so who were you directing the 'so many of you' who hadn't heard of going to parties et al at?

How am I supposed to know that, short of checking everyone's profiles individually? If nobody up to the point of my post applied to my post, then who cares, my bad, yeah?

Not bad, just confusing. Anyway I hope you have fun at your fireworks and get home safely afterwards.

I didn't really have plans for today, to be honest. Of course, I'm not terribly social to begin with, so, er, yeah.
Be calm my friend. What nhubi said. All good :)

But must be a little bit confusing, haha!
Have fun
