FAVOURITE GAME ENDINGS

Pages: 1
I decided to create the opposite to my "Horrible Game Endings" topic. What are your favourite game endings? Also, remember to use spoiler tabs in your posts.

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core:

I usually don't like many game endings but i thought that Crisis Core had one of the best i've seen. The ending did go for quite a while but it kept me interested all the way with music that fitted the scenes perfectly. It was also a sad ending that nearly made me cry. :'(

Ah, good idea. I think you should put the title over top of the spoiler, instead of inside of it. That way, people won't stumble into a spoiler they didn't want to read.
Super Mario 64. Don't act like that game wasn't worth playing.

That is true. I've edited my first post.
I agree with you demondestiny. Crisis Core has a cool, but sad ending. I liked it. \

Final Fantasy X
Ending is pretty much sad also. For my first time, I didn't think Tidus would leave. I would really like a bright future of Yuna and Tidus!

The ambiguity/hopelesness of Final Fantasy VII's ending was awesome. I thought it was really ballsy of them to
kill everyone off!
but of course, with all the fucking sequels, they were like, "LOL, JK, we take it back,
ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE IS ALIVE!
which is RETARDED and completely undoes the artistry of the original ending.

Or did I just misinterpret it the first time and give them too much credit. I wonder.

I'm not comfortable with any idea that can't be expressed in the form of men's jewelry

You give them too much credit. The only good part of FF7 was the first disc.

Best ending? FF6. FF8 is close as well because of it leaving no loose-ends and just being a very pleasing experience.
My favorite ending is... wait for it... .... Portal.
Obviously.
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here, huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction...

Some other good ones ar the Fallouts endings and Arcanum (They all had a bunch of different ones, which was the good thing about them)

Max Payne 2 was also a favorite
I liked that game so much I played it through on all difficulty levels and I got that special ending too. On the whole I just liked the atmosphere as a whole and the ending didn't disappoint.

100% agree here, personally I thought the whole game could even have centered on just the 1st disc or/and even completely set in Midgard
I liked the ending to C&C95 for the Nod side. You take control of the ion cannon and use it to destroy a historical monument, like the Eiffel Tower or the Colisseum or the White House.

That WAS a ballsy ending, although I feel the entirety of that game's story suffered from poor translation.
It's too bad the port to PSP has that annoying lag. The script is a lot nicer.
I was just in the "worst game ending" topic and I was trying to think of what I hated most, and really, an ending can only be devastating if it is bad plus the game being really good. Like you are all amped for something awesome and then they wake up from a dream or something.

But the inverse to this would be Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES. Really boring, awful, and tedious game but with a kick ass really long and epic ending.

What!? Not only did Persona 3 have a kick-ass ending it was a kick-ass game even with the Answer.

Good endings...
Well, it really depends on what you think a good ending is.
Does it leave no loose ends? Is it as you planned? Does it leaving you hanging?
Well, I think good endings leave you 'hanging' for more, or if they do the opposite of what you expected. I don't like endings that do what I expected (e.g, FFIV).
The games that I thought had a good ending were:
FFV
The outcome of the ending was dependant on which characters did not die during the final fight. This was great because it was a challenge to get the best ending possible... And I didn't want to leave anyone out >.>.

Breath of Fire IV
This to me is a semi-good ending, as it left us with things unexplained, which left us to actually theorize what happened. I liked this aspect, but the bad aspects of it were that we didn't get any information of what the heroes would do next! This was the only bad apect of it that I can think of.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

And here I was thinking no one else had even heard of Persona.
