HELP WITH ATTACK ANIMATIONS

I have a skill that I wanted to hit each turn. I would like my skill to last a few turns like the states do. I was able to make a state that hit each turn but it needs to be a %. The problem is I can't seem to get the animation to play each turn the stat is active. Is there a way to do this? Also it would be better if I could get a skill to last a few turns without using a state. If you can help on that it would be a big help.
With which editor?
Edit: You know what, I don't know about XP, VX Ace, or MV, but with 2000 and 2003, I'm pretty sure that skills lasting multiple turns can't be done. I gave it a really good college try with a game I did on 2003. I asked for help, too, and nobody could really figure it out.
Edit 2: I managed to get animations to last multiple turns. I suspect there may be a way to do it if you tie your skill to a state and use your state to postpone an effect. That was what I was trying to do (I was making a Final Fantasy style jump ability), and I got it partly working, but I couldn't get the animation to work right.
