Hi! My name is Ginger! I'm looking for some people to embark on an exciting journey with me: making an RPG! I already have an plotline in place, and now I need people to help me make this idea a reality.

The working plot for the game involves a protagonist becoming lost in the woods, and their struggle to survive. The protagonist is guided by several different animal spirits, and led through the woods to meet "Cassandra", who the protagonist believes can help them go home.

The game is meant to focus more on puzzles than leveling up and fighting, and will definitely be more of a story than a game.

We will communicate over Skype, Email, and Google Docs.

I will need game scripters- I'm thinking RPG Maker for software(I do have a mac, though), but honestly, whatever you agree on is fine. I'd like two or three game scripters, so it isn't too much of a work-load.

I will also need artists- pixel and someone to do more elaborate drawings. I'd like to have at least two of these, as well.

I really want the game to have a soundtrack, so a composer would be lovely!

I wouldn't mind having another writer to help me out! Also a "co-director" of sorts, someone who has organized projects like this before.

Reply on here, or email me at vrdoran@gmail.com . Please tell me in at least a paragraph what you'd like to do, why, any qualifications, how much time you have in an average week to work on the project, what programs you are comfortable using, and your work ethic and personality! I can't wait to meet all of you! I want to make friends building this game!

Making an RPG is an exciting journey, indeed ^_^ Is this your first game project?

I'm gonna be blunt with you here, and not to discourage you, but to help you in the long run.

1) Do you have anything to show as far as personal works go?
2) How do you intend to make this worth the while of everyone else involved?
3) How much are you willing to do on your own?
4) Are you open to the idea of making friends first then trying to work out something?

Again, not saying this to hinder you, but help you in the long run. I don't mind talking this over some more if you wish though so that maybe we can get you on the right track.
Given that you're new here, you're probably going to have a lot of trouble getting people to help you with such an ambitious project. Most users here aren't willing to help a complete newcomer, unless you offer good money for their services Even if you can pay people to help with your game, I wouldn't recommend it since if you run into some difficulties and end up having to cancel the project, you'll have wasted your money in addition to time.

If you have already made games before, you should try to get them onto this site before getting started on making new games. If you haven't, then focus on making smaller games to gain experience before you get started on making your dream game. You should read "On First Projects" by RMN user Dark Gaia, since your idea seems to go against all the advice it offers. An epic RPG with fully original art and music is not something that you should be doing for your very first project.
Yeah, this is my first project. I've been involved in planning a few projects before...figured I'd see if I could organize a team. Thanks for all your advice! I might look for some games that need writers on here.
I think I wanna write an article about what makes a good training project.

To give a short overview, you should focus on exploring the events and maybe play around with the database a bit. Also, the project should have around 1-2 hours playtime.
Honestly, best way is to just create a project and mess with everything you can. Experiment. Very likely you won't break stuff and if you do, well, it wasn't a proper project, so it doesn't matter. ^.^
