INVITATION FOR QUESTIONS FOR A FINAL FANTASY TRIVIA GAME

Posts

Pages: 1
I'm currently making a Final Fantasy trivia game, based a bit like "Who wants to be a millionaire?" As in, one question, one right answer, three other possibilities which aren't correct.

I'm not sure how I'd go about doing this, but I would like to invite others here to submit their own questions and four answers signifying which one is the correct answer. (only related to Final Fantasy 1-10, but more if you can provide questions and answers, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy A2 Grimoire of the Rift). Could someone tell me the best way to do this?

I'm thinking of aiming for around 50-100 questions, depending on how many others join in with their questions and answers.

I'll credit anyone who joins in.

I'm up to ten questions and answers so far.

If any question has already been covered, I'll let you know.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I think people should probably mail you their submissions, since you probably don't want a public forum post with a list of the questions and answers you're using.

How hard do you want them to be? Will it also be like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in that the first question is almost impossible to get wrong and the last one is almost impossible to get right? Do you want people to indicate about how hard they think each question is?

Also, many games have multiple translations. Do you want to use terminology from the original translations or from the newest ones? (If a question asks about one of Sabin's attacks from FF6, for example, should it call the attack Suplex or Meteor Strike?)

I am probably the most qualified person on this site to write questions for such a game - I'm the administrator of the Unofficial Squaresoft MUD, a Final Fantasy MMORPG fan-game that's been running for over fifteen years.

as a final fantasy scholar* i am willing to help you out, but i agree with locked that an open list here would not be beneficial to the game

Anyone can be a final fantasy scholar if they try hard and believe in themselves

You're magical to me.

"I started my journey to be a Final Fantasy scholar. I had a good feeling! After playing all the games in the series, the result was before me and I succeeded! This is the way!"
Fun fact: I actually won FFXIII for the XBOX circa 2010 in a FF quiz, itself hosted in a "final fantasy room" of an anime event.

...I didn't have an XBOX.

1. How many belts does Lulu have?
2. Which Final Fantasy has a battle theme with 5/4ths time signature?

...i know a lot of these.
lol.
Good idea. Send me them as messages, rather than posting them here. I'll send out a message with the questions I've already included so there aren't double ups.

Could someone let me know how to send messages as opposed to just doing these replies?

I'm not sure if sending out messages with questions already included would be a good idea, but, letting people know how far along you are (ie: how many questions you have, or how many questions you think you still need) is certainly more doable.

Though, for reference purposes, look to the user bar (ie: the black bar OF DOOM at the top of the screen). There's a "Mailbox" drop-down right next to your user name. Hover over that, and there should be a "Compose" option. It should be fairly straight-forward from there?
Okay, I'll do that. Once I've finished the lot which I've been given, I'll then put up an update.
@LockeZ: Regarding the different translations, that itself could be a good question. Like "This skill is named X in the original translation. How was it named in <Remake>?"

@JosephSeraph:

None.

Regarding the type of questions, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has 15 questions with 2 stops after the 5th and 10th respectively (talking about the version here in Germany), where the 5-question blocks tend to follow a certain pattern (with a few outliers here and there):

1-5: Ridiculous puns where only one answer remotely makes sense
6-10: Simple trivia questions within one field.
11-15: A certain thing has to be guessed in which field it belongs.
I mentioned "Who wants to be a millionaire" so you get the idea of how I'd like the questions and answers. You know, one question, four likely answers but only one is correct.

For the versions. I'd prefer these if you can. Some I haven't included in here since they were only on one console anyway. A list of the titles which I'm including are in my first post.

Final Fantasy - psp
Final Fantasy II - psp
Final Fantasy III - psp/ds
Final Fantasy IV - psp
Final Fantasy V - playstation/snes
Final Fantasy VI - playstation/snes
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X - playstation 3/vita

Thanks for the questions which have been submitted so far. I'm currently at 34.

If you want to make riddle type questions as well, you're welcome.

For example, here's one. I'm not going to provide the answer here though.

"Three are fake, only one is real. What am I referring to?"
