RMMV: HIGH FANTASY 70PX SPRITES

I'm not a great fan of the chibi style characters in RMMV, so I was wondering if anyone had figured out how to use the sprites from the High Fantasy packs in RPG Maker MV. They're 70x70 pixels which is quite a bit larger than the default 48x48 in MV and being a complete newbie I can't find a way to use them. Is there a way to change the default size of a character? Would that need a script?

There's going to have to be a script. This is THE reason I haven't bought MV. It does not have a sprite conversion function. That's why it doesn't have the double tall doors in the charsets.
Uhhhh... you can shrink them down? A nice solid half size would work. Wait, how do they work in Ace if they're 70x70 - it's tile grid is 32x32.

At least for the sprites you can shrink down. The rest of the graphics will probably not work.

In Ace, you add a $ to the beginning of the file, then as long as they're still in a 3 by 4 grid, they work just like the regular size sprites. You can put sprites any size in with the $.
Oh, riiiight
you can do that with mv, you know?

None of the symbols work. Do you think I didn't try? I'd love to know how.

seems to work fine for me???

No, that's the boss thing. That takes both the $ and the !. That's the only one I've been able to get to work. I was not able to put in extra large walking sprites, nor was I able to put in two tile high doors.
...you need to use the $ and/or ! for both of them.

The boss monster there just uses $, by the way.

See, the ! before a name makes it so that the sprite in question lines up with the bottom line of the grid. This is necessary for doors (so it would be !$ - just like they use for gates in the RTP... which works just fine, btw)

The $ makes it so that you have a 3x4 animated sprite that can be any size you want (see the boss monster above).

There are all examples of this that work in the default graphics that come with MV, so... not sure what the issue is. Maybe you're naming them wrong?

Examples:
!$Gate1.png

!Chest.png

$BigMonster1.png

Just remember you have to have only 3 frames of animation and 4 directions on the image. You can't have 8 different sprites (with animations and directions) on the image or it won't work.
Thanks for the help guys. I'm still stuck but will come back to the problem when I have some more time. I'm just using free trials of things at the moment, so I downloaded Ace and that imports them just fine. Perhaps I'll end up going Ace instead of MV when I buy the program.

Yeah, my free trial is long over, but I knew it wasn't as simple as Libby was saying, I just didn't want to say anything without being able to test and double check. I was noticing that the Gates and Bosses were working, but even using their file methods wasn't working for 70 px tall sprites and doors.
It might be an issue with the trial - the full version has seen a couple of bug fixes and updates since the release. Look, PM me one of the sprites you're trying to use and I'll check to see if it works in the full version of MV or not.
