WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ANIME? IS IT OKAY TO ASK THIS???

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Here I am with my uninteresting and way too mainstream opinion:

Death Note, Code Geass and Mirai Nikki is where it's at. Battles of wits, strategy, betrayal and psychological warfare are much more interesting to me than over the top fight scenes where cities are destroyed without any of the combatants taking damage.

Also, why wouldn't it be okay to ask this? Maybe the thread should be in welp, but you're certainly free to ask people about their opinions.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Because it's freaking awesome.
Black★Rock Shooter. Amazing battle scenes that aren't constantly interrupted by pointless dialogue, and love the art style.
Fairy Tail. Incredibly cheesy. But I like cheese, so it's all good. Also has best OST in the history of anime.

I agree, but I stopped watching at episode 12 because I was tired of Lucy being completely useless.
I find this funny, because a lot of people I've seen complaining about Fairy Tail say they don't like it because Natsu is too strong. Lucy actually isn't useless at all if you pay attention to what she does, it's just that she isn't 'overpowered' like some of the other characters are (*coughErzacough*). And at least she isn't just sitting somewhere doing nothing at all when battles happen. She actually tries her best even though many of the enemies she faces are stronger than her. I think that's part of what makes her a cool character.
I'm really bad about actually consuming media, but I've been meaning to look into Revolutionary Girl Utena and Paranoia Agent for a long time now. they seem like they fit my whole sort of deal, to put it vaguely!
Paranoia Agent.

Black Rock Shooter, Baccano! and Mushishi are all pretty damn good in my book, too.
Gintama is great for comedy .. if you can get into it. It can be borderline stupid.

If you want to know why.. tell me. I'll ramble a lot *chuckle*

I don't know why, but when I first started watching Fairy Tail I had really high hopes for Lucy so I guess I was kind of dissapointed.
Also, it seems people like Black Rock Shooter!

Honestly, the reason I never got into Fairy Tale was because it fekt like too much of a knock off of One Piece.
Psycho-Pass - Sci-fi is my favourite genre, and all of the characters are reasonably proportioned, and reasonably dressed, no zany, out of this world costumes here.

Akira - The first anime I ever watched, and one of my favourite.

Evangelion -It messed my head up and I liked it.

Attack on Titan - I love the soundtrack, and once again, all of the characters are reasonably proportioned, and reasonably dressed.

I like Attack on Titan too!

I watched both, but got bored with One Piece rather quickly due to its terrible pacing. I honestly don't see that many similarities between the two, except that they're both generic battle shounens with the same kind of tropes you'd expect to see for their genre.

I know this is unrelated, but Pizza you're avatar looks oddly like Ludger Will Kresnik from Tales of Xillia 2, just an animal version

I've heard a lot of good stuff about Baccano! and DRRR, actually -- I'll have to add them to the list too.

oh, and Cowboy Bebop. I've only seen a little so far, but I really enjoy the stylish, everyday-life approach they have to the sci-fi setting -- it feels like it's something that people actually live in, and it's weirdly idyllic in spite of taking place in a setting with space travel.

Sir Redd of Novus: He who made Prayer of the Faithless that one time, and that was pretty dang rad! :D

The Garden of Sinners: My favorite animation studio ufotable, with my favorite composer Yuki Kajura, and set in the Type Moon universe. Yes.

Fate/Zero: My favorite animation studio ufotable, with my favorite composer Yuki Kajura, and set in the Type Moon universe. Yes.

My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong as I Expected: I've always got a soft spot for antisocial, cynical protagonists, and the MC here is pretty cool. A fun comedy that delves into philosophy and directly addressing high school social issues. Then the second season comes around and switches the show to almost full on drama, and it's awesome.

Rage of Bahamut: Genesis: An great adventure anime with a memorable group of heroes and one of the most headbanging intros I've ever heard.

Monogatari: Final Season: Very striking visuals and a very creative and imaginative story. Though you definitely need to see the whole series first before watching this.

The TM is for Totally Magical.

Akame ga Kill, Cowboy Bebop, Akira, S-Cry-Ed, Tenchi Muyo, Beast King GoLion (Voltron), Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, and the list goes on: I don't care about specific technical details. I just like what I think is fun to watch.
While we are on the subject, has anyone watched the new Dragon Ball Super?
I'm having a hard time understanding some of the decisions they made, where they say Super takes place before the end of DBZ before Battle of the Gods and Resurrection F and that it's all canon?

What is there to understand? The series did start slightly before Battle of Gods, but then moved onto the movies and will continue onwards. Considering the events are largely the same in both, I see no no cause for confusion there. Still, I'd say the series override the movies since it's slightly better written. The only good thing about the movies was the animation/composition quality...

Talking about Dragon Ball Super; I'm kinda disappointed. My biggest gripe right now is how Vegeta is getting zero development. At this point in the series Vegeta should be able to go SSBlue too, but we didn't get to see him go SSGod or even be able to rise past SSJ2 for real. We're just supposed to believe he did, and is now "as strong/stronger" than Goku because reasons. And while I'm looking forwards to the new Interversal? multiversal? (lol, multiverse) tournament, I have a feeling it's going to play like every other tournament before. With every other battle except the final being the equivalent of filler... So far, Super is really making me appreciate GT.

Oh right. Anime... I like animes like Ano Hana or Hanasaku Hiroha. More recently I enjoyed the Gatchaman series. At first I was weirded out because it was nothing like the old Gatchaman I used to watch (Also known as G-Force) but it ended winning me over. Also, yay for Scrapped Princess. There's always Scawflone too. And fuck Evangelion, watch Genesis of Aquarion instead.

(...)

The main forte of the two is that each character has its own important part to play, and it has many stories intervining into what becomes one big incident.
So the main characters have the involvement with all parties, but are nowhere near the "most important", as pretty much everyone's is equal.
I can highly recommend it if that and crazy characters sound good (lots of crazy characters, I dig it)
My favorite is definitely Madoka Magica. Yes, I even loved the Rebellion movie. I also really like Hibike! Euphonium. The last episode still makes me cry.

Astroboy

I never heard of that, though it sounds like it'd have something to do with space.
My favourite is! *gasp* Shakugan no Shana!!!!!! (unsurprisingly) I won't go say why, because I'll end up fanboying.

Aside, there's Monogatari, Clannad, Nagi no Asukara, and Higurashi to name a few. Another and Mirai Nikki would've been up there as well if it weren't for their rather disappointing endings (especially in Another's case).
