LOOKING FOR A GAME THAT FITS SOME OF THESE CRITERIA

Hi everyone! I've been bored for a while and I'm looking for a game, preferable one on here.
There are a few wants for the game but it needs to be free haha.

Then, I want a game where you start off kind of weak, fighting for your life kind of, ut by the end you can feel how powerful you are. Like a mage who can summon a huge lightening bolt, one that you can tell is very, very powerful, or a warrior who can duel master swordsmen with ease.
Perhaps this is shown with a nice combat system?
Good character customization, being in control of what my characters excel in is always awesome.
A good story is always great too.
I guess it kind of sounds like a generic RPG, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks to everyone!
Well, it may be off, but the feeling of being powerful after starting out weak (train in the castle some more with the skeletons, it will help you.) is pretty damn strong in Vampires Dawn.
It's fairly long. You don't have completely free customization, but you do have spells to select to learn next between the elements your party is capable off. By the end you are capably of literally eradicating towns. You use blood as mana and if you run out of it you go berserk, so it is especially early on without items a lot about trying to keep you sane.
I didn't read it properly. I thought he was after any old game.
My apologies.
it does sound like every RPG ever, tbh.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Some of the best traditional RPGs on this site are Hero's Realm, Enelysion, Visions & Voices, Wine & Roses, Master of the Wind, Paradise Blue, and Demon Legacy.

You might also look through the list of Featured Games. You can quickly see a summary of each game, and below the game's title there are a pair of tags indicating what engine it's made in and what genre it is. So you can look through and quickly see which ones are RPGs. (About two thirds of them are.) All the games I listed are featured games, but there are a lot more featured games that I haven't played, and I'm sure plenty of them are traditional long-form RPGs. A new game is featured each month so it's a pretty long list by now.

i wouldn't say V&V matches the power fantasy aspect of his request, although i do appreciate the namedrop. W&R probably does though!
