MAPS WEEKLY II : ATTACK OF THE CLONE

Lets make maps! Themed maps!
The sequel no one asked for!
Maps Weekly was an idea by Cap_H to help improve people's mapping skills by working on a different theme each week. This way you'll be able to see and compare how others approach the same challenge, possibly learn a few new tricks from the more experienced mappers in the community and gain valuable feed back from our helpful souls.
Like in the previous thread your maps can be from anything, an active project or something created for the topic.
I just ask that you only submit maps made within that week.
The new theme will be announced each Sunday.

Ironically, I asked for it.
I'll whip something up tomorrow.
I'll whip something up tomorrow.

I created a sleepy autumnal village for this weeks theme using the Pixel Myth: Germania resource pack.
My god, what transcendent beauty, ESBY!

Was kinda disappointed with it at first, but now it's grown into me.
I like your map Libby. You might want to look up some town mapping tutorials though Liberty has a good one on youtube.
Funny~
I'd recommend making either the steps the cliff steps or having cobblestone pathing maybe through the center of the village, then using the dirt for paths to doors. Paths are usually where people walk (or animal tracks) so people coming in and out of their houses will create such paths. Cobble was used for well-used walking places, so having a cobble path leading up from near the sign, to the top of the village would make some sense. It wouldn't wind like dirt paths would, either, it'd be straight lines.
You should check out that village mapping tutorial 7thlittleleopard put up on youtube. It explains this kind of thing in greater detail. ^.^)b

I would also heavily recommend twitch user silversatyr's video on youtube.
Ehm, yeah I know you would probably say something about the paths and I actually like that idea. I'll probably watch out for that from now on. I deleted the map since it was just something quick I made for this thread :P

Libs that is neat!
I'm iffy on the crack on the inn simply because wood doesn't really make those kinds of "crack" formations that's similar to stone, but I get what you are trying to go for with it, and the RTP doesn't really have a better option, so... Yep!
Also, you might want to check out Craze's resources (it may be here or on RMW). He has an edit to the dirt and stone "grass road" autotiles that prevent those weird, color-shifting "line" on the edge of them. It's super useful!

Yeah, I gotta do a new map anyway, since that one is more a town than a village.
You're not wrong about that crack. I might do some edits and make some that work for wood. Also, had no idea Craze did any edits. They must be on RMW because they haven't come through the queue as far as I know. XD

Off to a good start, every map posted is neat.
One of my favourite locations is the Sol Sanctum in Golden Sun so for this week I want you all to create some form of:
Temple Interior

Damn. I always suck at dungeon design. But I guess what matters here is the map not the layout so I'll just go for a quick T shaped map probably. I'll do it tomorrow though since I'm too busy looking at fanart of my husbando it's really late.
