so as it turns out. apparently i want to become an animator (better work on those FUN DAMENTALS!) paint more. you frogt about backgrounds. what about objects?
i watched anime idk.

anyways. imagine, a top down dark sci fi action game. 1080p. painstackingly animated,

that's like psychological horror, and it's sci fi, and your a lady with some equipment and some magical sciencey stuff.

this guy is a dick to her idk. but it's the future okay? but it's just them, somewhere... he kind of just found her then made her life miserable. (he's racist to robot people)

basically everything gona kill ya unless ya kill him.

that's why it's action! cuz yo u gota try your best to over come these encounters that the dick face guy is putting the lady though.

and basically you gota get to the end i geuss. there's like a start point. and the end point. when your at the end, everything moving, so many moving parts, a millimum moving parts.

the ground, the walls, everythings mechanical and moving...

i think i may need to do something like make 3d models, rig them, then animate them.
Then make 1000s of frames from that and draw over top of the 1000s of frames to make them look better.

also draw 1 kilometer squared of set pieces. lots of variety. think halo. or yumi nikki.

then toss all of that into a bowl and mix in a few dozen lighting effects.
now empty a vat of color correction on top of all of that.

and ya that totally will work, i ran the simulation 1.2 trillion times! 0 actual.
if we do the math, it could very well takea long long longlong long time.

i was playing hyper light drifter and i found it funny to turn the brightness to 0-2


trying to unlock the super cool, super blue cloak and puurple hardlight sword. i got to 607 twice. then i choked both times.
i killed 2 bosses too and died 427.8 times.

Your base sprite looks pretty good. The walking animations need a bit of work though.

god damn dude this shit is beautiful

i know very little about spriting and animating but I think the forward facing pose needs to have the head move so it doesn't look so stiff with the legs and body moving
thank you wonder where im going with this. i've had this vague idea of 'ima make a linear action game!' wow what an endeavor, why do it?

what i'm most curious about is what it will look like in engine.

I started thinking about what tritech looks like.

What you see here is Sam, the truly psychopathic, immortal (they don't age and have really good health care), sole owner of the tritech corporation! they inherited the infinity powerful corporation after murdering the 37 members of there extended family.

they pride them selfs on being on top of the food chain (humans are superior to robot people)

and, well they are very bored.
hence why they need you, (the player) to entertain them.

also they have an array of powerful finely engineered bodyguards that would die 1000 times over for them.

also there nose sometimes runs. but they have a fancy hanky so it's irrelevant to them. they have a weird fetish where you (the player) actually manages to, despite the impossibility, get to the end and fight them to the death.

killing you them selves, after all your hard work. would be extremely arousing to them.




as well as strange humanoid contraptions that they haphazardly slapped together. the poor souls. (there is actually human souls in there) think soma!

i must place trust in my incoherent prophetic vision of wondrous magical games.

idea is you animate it regularly, then add the details after.

the current small plan is to make a placeholder dark set piece with some animations so i can actually open unity. and make some basic collisions happen

you must slide around objects if your running into them as an example.





time for set piece construction.
