I am trying to make a path where it looks like my characters are climbing a big vine. I don't know what to do. This is my first game. Help please! Is this possible using just the standard tiles?
Screen shot of what you're attempting to do.
Press Print Screen, paste the picture in word and save picture as, then upload to locker.
I've uploaded the shot of the world map. There is a floating temple with a vine next to it. I would like my characters to be able to climb the vine.
For reference purposes, the map uploaded was...

...this one.
Now, for the issue of being able to "climb" the vine. I believe there's an option to set tiles to have a "ladder" flag in the database. I'm almost positive that characters are automatically forced to face upwards when on tiles with that flag, giving the illusion of climbing. However, what I might suggest you do is move the vines a space to the left and one space down.
Before you complain that the vines would paint over the cloud temple tiles, try doing it with events with the vine graphics on them. Ensure that the events are "below hero", and they would probably need some manner of Move-Route command to get the same effect as tiles with a "ladder" tag.
As an alternative, you can do the event-placement as before, but instead of doing move-routes, send players to a separate map, and have them climb up to the cloud temple that way.
*Edit: I hope this helps!

You could also Gimp / Photoshop the vine so it hangs from the floating cloud.
Then do what Marrend suggests.
If that doesn't work, Tiles also have directional passages, you can check that out too.
