What we've done
We've already developed a Visual Novel which is already going through Crowdfunding! It's ready for download and you can check that out here: http://novelteagames.com/runeousVN

What we're doing (Proof of concept)
Our little indie studio emphasizes on Story and Visuals, these are key components to our games so it's important that we get that covered.
The project we're working on along side our Visual Novel is a small RPG which will serve as a 'Prologue' to the VN. We've already drafted up a concept of it here with default sprites from Game Maker MV: http://novelteagames.com/gametestzone/Runeous0.2/
We follow the pre-Visual Novel story, where we learn how our main character met the people of the VN.
While some of you may be thinking "Oh no, not another MV game" We think that too. But the amount of things you can do with MV means you can also make your game look amazingly original with dedication. That's why we need someone who can work with Parallax Mapping. (If that sounds confusing, it's actually not, all you need is Photoshop or a similar program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64nxvCaPaJw )
Game Features:
We're going in deep. Trust me when I say you won't be the only one putting the effort in~
+ Almost every object should be intractable
+ Different dialogues depending on who's leading the party.
+ In depth lore.
+ Open world to explore.
+ Cutscenes involving character bonds, rivalries and humor.
+ Character Emotions (Going Visual Novel style! ^^)
+ Much more!
All of the above work well within RPG maker (you've probably tested a lot of it out yourself) we know we can pull it off and we're sticking within the realms of realism for development, pushing for more yet knowing the limits of what we can achieve.
What's in it for me?
Game development takes time. A LONG time. In fact our Visual Novel has taken over a year. You need to be dedicated and have plenty of time, love and patience to throw at this. The rewards are amazing, however. You'll be able to tell everyone you're a genuine Indie Game Developer and when the project is done, get a profit share on any money the game might make.
It isn't without it's risks though. There's always the chance that the game won't sell (We're pretty confident it will with what we have planned, but I just want to make sure I make that point of 'What If').
Plans are to release on Steam where, if you have an account, you will be awarded with a 'Developer' badge to flaunt to the world. As mentioned you will be entitled to a profit share, this share is determined by the size of the team. Currently it's just me working on this particular project so profits are 50-50. However it's likely we'll need a composer and possibly (Depending on how much workload you can take on) another artist. In all we'll likely be looking at least 25% profit share each!
Your Rights
You're an equal member of our team from day 1. You have your right of say in aspects of the game. Your work will effectively belong to the project (We don't want other games using our graphics, right?) However you're totally free to display them in your own portfolios.
While from a marketing point of view you'll be asked not to share specific content until specific dates, that choice is inevitably up to you.
Why 'Novel Tea'?
Novel Tea is the name of our Indie Studio. The VN team are dedicated individuals and we want to see our projects through to the end no matter what! - You'll be assured that you won't be let down by us, we simply ask you to give that same commitment back. It takes everyone to make a team work!
Whilst being part of a bigger picture, we work project-by-project, so profit shares only come from the projects you're a part of. That means people on other projects wont get part of your share and likewise, you don't get theirs. This is a fair practice in our eyes as it means you have to put the work in to get something out!
Questions?
Well, that was a lot to read. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have, simply comment here or send me a PM!
If you're interested in joining our team PLEASE be sure to send along examples of what you can do. (Animating not required, however is a bonus!)
Update: 14/02/16

Adding in side quests is something that I'm working on. Adding to the 'Open World Element!

Working with default sprites really limits how things should look. This is a more 'SteamPunk' district with a large mansion on a hill. It's a little more difficult to show how this map will look but this is the base-line. Being a city I'm going to have to represent more housing.
This should also show the effect of 'Houses atop houses' different levels of the city built upwards.

Sounds like a huge and risky commitment...
How many sprites and other assets will you need, how big would they be, and what kind of animations will they require?

Risk really depends on how you look at it.
I'm seeing it through to the end no matter what, even if that means the entire game (Minus art assets) is finished, I'll just keep looking for someone who wants to work on it.
Will it sell?
Well that's the biggest risk. No one can say 100% something will sell, if it doesn't the assets can be used in another project.
As for the size, I'm planning on default RPG maker MV size for the tilesets/characters. (That can be debated).
Animations aren't a 'Must' but give the overall feel a boost. These would range from any tileset effects (Water for example) to attacks, custom character sprites etc..
As far as scenes go. They won't be over the top. I'm thinking:
- One tileset for general towns (Indoors/out)
- One for the main city (In/Out)
- One for World Map
- One for wilderness (Between towns)
- One for Dungeon(s)
Assets from each of these can then be reused in variations if needed.

...I want to show your initial post to all those who come on the site and dump a 'lol, looking for people to join my team' post. This is how you do it (though pictures would make it a little more interesting for anyone reading. Eye-candy is always a good way to hook people.)

Well I'm glad you think it's constructed enough ^^
Images probably would have been nice to break it up, however the images we have are catered to the Visual Novel and we don't have anything really related to the RPG other than the odd screenshot or two (I'll add those in).
