SUMMARY:
“Uh oh! It looks like General Manager Kentona’s got his work cut out for him this year! :O

With the impending RMN Trade Deadline day fast approaching him in a few days time, Kentona’s got some pretty hefty shoes to fill in regards to what he wants to do going forward in shaping his team for the years to come – but he’s gotta be careful! Not trading someone away whose value is currently high and expendable could hurt him in the long run of things and not trading various limping assets, who mostly just sit on the bench all day long and cost him valuable makerscore salary could spell disastrous for him. What is he to do?”

RULES:
  • You must pick five RMNers from here to keep around for the rest of the year and give a reason or two on why they should stay.

  • Then list five other RMNers that you wish to be traded away and give a reason or two why, whether it be lack of performance, makerscore salary, or whatever the case may be. Choose wisely.

  • All in all, this is just for fun. Don’t take it too seriously, okay?

KEEP: Unity
WHY: I kind of consider her the future Liberty replacement if she ever decides to step down someday. Not only does she have a boatload of many different games on here and has currently two games featured on this site thus far but she is also very friendly, participates in a lot of events and discussions and overall is a B prospect that has suddenly turned into a A one. She’s also great all around with all the newbies coming on board, too. Trading unity now would definitely fetch us a hefty return, indeed, but I rather trade someone else.

KEEP: Archeia_Nessiah
WHY: The wily old veteran who still manages to produce on a nightly basis. Nessy may not post as much or participate in as many events as she once did before, but she’s still a valuable asset to this team - and we can’t trade her now, even with her large looming salary and signing bonus. She’s still one of the best artists around here, and that’s an asset worth keeping.

KEEP: Solitayre
WHY: Things were looking a little bleak there for the guy a couple of months ago with his recent slip in production, but lately Soli seems to be like he’s back on track in the reviewing side of things and has managed to rocket back up the standings again into a keeper status, especially with nhubi mysteriously disappearing; somebody needs a reviewing hero on board, and it looks like we already have one... Besides, only he has the mental capacity to go through all those reviews in the queue and not go insane.

KEEP: Badluck
WHY: Not only is he cheap to keep around at only 1.039 makerscore a season, but the man seems to have come back from the minors recently and is playing like a real pro again. With Ara Fell almost completed very soon, which I’m sure is going to do really, really good, Badluck might be interested in doing other projects again, which benefits us more by keeping him around. Besides, he’s a legend. You don’t trade legends.

KEEP: Kylaila
WHY: I’d keep her around mainly because of her friendly demeanour, wiliness to participate and is a great success story as another yet prospect, similar to unity, that has done very well in the Kentona system. Her makerscore salary is expensive, for sure, but maybe this is something to look to do for next season's deadline instead of this one.

TRADE: Deckiller
WHY: Why is he still playing on this team again? With making over a grand whopping total of over 17.7 makerscore a season, which is the HIGHEST out of everyone here on the site here besides the GM, it’s time for Deckiller to go, play a few more games for RPG Maker Web and retire from the sport with dignity. Besides, he can always come back next season in an assistances role.

TRADE: calunio
WHY: I’m not sure what's happened to calunio over the last couple of months, but I think it may be time to finally trade the Brazilian... He still got some merit behind him because of his past games and his overall experience, but we may only get two boxes of half eaten donuts out of it for him in the end, which I guess is still better than one.

TRADE: Puddor
WHY: Our little Final Fantasy fangirl hasn’t done that much lately on the RMN front of things, and it may be time for her to go. Her makerscore salary is attractive enough at 4.0, so that might attract a couple of suitors. Besides, she’s got some experience regarding using RPG Maker XP and VX Ace, so that’s a positive.

TRADE: Max McGee
WHY: Sorry, Maxy, but you just haven’t been a big draw in the last little while around here - and I'm not sure why... His game making skills have dried up a little bit recently and he doesn’t post as much as he did before, but he’s still a valuable experienced veteran that can probably get us something in the end. His most recent baggage might hurt trading him though, along with his expensive makerscore salary.

TRADE: WIP
WHY: I know that WIP is one of the founding fathers and all and still holds a bit of a presence around here, but that 11.3 makerscore contact a season is just hurting us way too much. Besides, he’s been on the long term injury list for years, now! It’s time to part ways with this fleeting legend.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Can we trade Addit for another me?

This seems like the kind of threat that should probably be locked immediately before our fostered cliques get butthurt.

Another LockeZ would be pretty crazy, though. At least Craze won’t try to pick on you anymore with a second you around.

And I’m hoping that this doesn’t get locked or people take this too seriously and get mad about it. It’s all supposed to be for fun, god damn it. Funnnnnnn!!!

Craze
why would i heal when i could equip a morningstar
15170
I'll think more on this later. I know I'd TRADE Craze because all he does is listen to Chrono Trigger and Undertale remixes all day. He also hasn't attacked anybody in a while, which is dull. I'd probably KEEP Jude, because he tells me how to beat scary fights in Record Keeper.
I feel I can only do 3 of each atm. Sorta new...

Keep: Liberty
WHY: we need Liberty to maintain order, without Liberty, the sense of order you all take for granted would deteriorate.

Keep: sixe
WHY: makerscore or no makerscore, this force of icy darkness will carry a miasma of death so strong around them, that everyone will simply perish! there won't even need to be a game!

Keep: pianotm
WHY: a wise wizard of nigh, there wisdom will enlighten the team to the secret world.

Trade: fearful
WHY: Their convoluted eccentric behavior is stirring memories of previous plagues.

Trade: Corfaisus
WHY: They know to much.

Trade: Sooz
WHY: they are not a catte, they are a derg. i just so happen to be racist to dergs

Ratty524
The 524 is for 524 Stone Crabs
12986
KEEP: Ratty524
He's a handsome devil

KEEP: JosephSeraph
He's a handsomer devil

TRADE: Everyone Else
Because reasons
KEEP: Everyone
WHY: Because everyone here is awesome.
Just like Narwhals.

@ fearful – Hmmm…those are some awfully good choices there. Although I’d probably personally keep Corfaisus around because we need his snarl. Sooz can go though, lol.

@ Ratty524 – Lol, Kentona would sure love to have you in charge of finances - hoo boy - save him a bundle.

Although do you three guys think that you can run all of RMN’s operations all by yourselves? I can see you and Kentona getting by with some marginal effort - but JosephSeraph? I don’t know…!

@ BlackWolf1992 – In a perfect world everybody would stay. But we have to trade somebody in order to keep this tight ship afloat…unless Kentona likes paying top dollar for a bunch of underachievers.
I've always wondered how these websites work, aren't they free to create, and maintain?

KEEP Liberty
WHY: Sure, she took awhile on the Valentines game, and we're still waiting for a bunch of other stuff, but that's only because she's already doing all kinds of stuff already.
KEEPJeroen_Sol
WHY: Bitchin' Mafia games.
KEEP Sooz (Dissenting opinion)
WHY: Awesome artz.
KEEP Seiromem
WHY: Owl's are rude.
KEEP Dudesoft
WHY: Bun-bo and Battledome
TRADE mawk
WHY: What the hell does he do? S/he storms through like a tornado at random intervals, targets a bunch of people s/he doesn't like and starts shit on the boards, says it's for the good of the community, and contributes exactly jack and shit, except once when he playtested a game for Emmych. Why haven't we traded mawk way before now?

Nobody else I actually dislike, so...

TRADE Mr_SuNa
WHY: Starts forum games and then doesn't finish them. He doesn't really keep up with what he's participating in.
TRADE Deckiller
WHY: He's practically gone anyway. I only hope it's nothing serious.
TRADE Max McGee
WHY: I disagree with Addit's reasons, but in spite of being a productive member of the community, he does butt heads with management from time to time, and he does have a few more penalties against him than the typical member. At least Pizza learned his lesson. McGee, on the other hand keeps pushing the envelope.
TRADE Tardis
WHY: Tardis basically claims to have graduated beyond RM to more advanced gaming software and design methods, which is great! More power to x/er, and I hope to one day be able to claim the same, but s/he's rarely ever here anymore, and is basically just taking up RMN's bandwidth. I get the feeling s/he'd be happier forgetting about us completely. There needs to be something to help kick the addiction and a trade could be just the thing.

BlackWolf1992
It's always wondered how these websites work, aren't they free to create, and maintain?

Oh...no. Not this size. This isn't some cheap ass blog, now. Even blogs charge people if they want to do more than just update. Bandwidth takes energy, which costs money. From what I gather, RMN isn't TOO expensive to run, but it's expensive enough that Kentona has to have a store to maintain expenses, and do donation drives.

Why haven't we traded mawk way before now?

Because he’s cheap to keep around. It’s like having the equivalent of a long time, career player in the minors who gets occasionally brought up once a game because someone manages to get hurt again – DECKILLER!!!

And I kind of remember tardis from a long time ago back when I used to be on Gaming World... Whatever happened to him / her? :/

Doesn't use RPG Maker anymore. More advanced development. Drops by once every few months and posts in a few threads that interest x/er. It was all I could think of to get the trade numbers up to five.

It's always wondered how these websites work, aren't they free to create, and maintain?

Smaller ones you can use free forum boards but you get what you pay for. In the case of RMN it costs money to host games and have bandwidth so people can download them. It's also pretty much custom-built to suit our needs (game pages, different category sections, aspects of the forums and event pages, for example) so it's not exactly a pre-made kit that you'll find for someone to just pick-up-and-pay for.

We have a site technician (all hail anky who takes care of us when he can), and the site itself is owned by one of the older non-active members (I think Holb still owns our asses).

As for costs - we have donation drives every year or so, but ads and donations keep us afloat (and the odd purchase from the store). That said, I'm just telling what I've heard second-hand, but we're getting by.

We run ourselves, and it's a labour of love on the part of those of us who have a hand in that (either donating, staffing, administrating, owning and tech-supporting). We get paid by having a site that is one of the best in the RM community. ;p
Ah, I see. Well, if the day ever comes when I'm rich I know where my money is going.
TRADE: Liberty
Because she keeps breaking the playing field in hilariously stupid ways. Even though she is useful, she's also scatterbrained and clumsy. She'll make the place fall down around our ears if we keep her. >.<;
KEEP: Liberty. Her makerscore wage would be horrendous, but due to the clumsiness this can definitely be pushed while still making best use of her friendly community power, gam mak super ability, and the built patience people have with her community projects.

KEEP: Mjishi. Low MS pay, high gam mak output, and great responsiveness to feedback! I see much for the future, gotta invest into new talents as well.

KEEP: Unity. This should be a no-brainer, for a united forum, we need unity.

KEEP: Deckiller. it is time for a combat to have the one and only surpassing death, resurrecting after an assassination attempt come back to post once again. I had little chance to cross ways, really, but everything I've seen was so much fun!

KEEP: Ankylo. Not the biggest gam maker, Ankylo is number one in the support area, only needing a few sandwiches as pay every other month. Also allows to smooth out other clumsiness and allows to use new ideas - and catch them if they are failing!

TRADE: Solitayre. Never again shall he rise to review!! I mean, uh, it's time to make room for nhubis newbies to move up in the ranks and bring a change of tactics to the field. A fresh breath of air.

TRADE: Addit. I have seen him proclaiming to work hard, but there isn't even a demo yet! And while he jokes around he is not a mascot like Gourd. A tragedy.

.. uh .. the trade is really tough, hehe.
well, both. so kool.
It's time to blow up our core and stockpile our draft picks and prospects, and give bigger time and responsibility to our up-and-coming players. Deal our veterans while they still have perceived value for high draft picks in the 2016 draft. We will retain salary as needed to get the deals done, and no one is off the table. We've asked Addit to waive his No-Trade clause and to provide us a list of 10 sites he'd be willing to go to. We feel this was an important opportunity for us to continue our work in building an organization that can consistently compete in the RM Cup playoffs for years to come. Everyone knew that the 2015-26 season was a rebuild year for us, but with some bright prospects coming into their own we felt that now is the time to build around a new core.

You gave me a no-trade clause? Pfft, you should know better than to do that.

But what if I decide NOT to waive it to go somewhere else – then what?
