Hello, Ladies and gentlemen please allow me to introduce myself. Some call my the shaman and others call me the dragon king, no relations to Ao Kaung, or Akatosh, or Bahamut, or...
-three hours later-
Now allow me to share a little about myself:
I'm a Art student, I specialize in drawing and painting, I'm working to be a illustrator of any form really. I just want to draw!
I recently bought rpg makerMV two day, I've been looking in its direction since 09, but at the time I was in a game design program so my focus was a little more or 3d programs... which I'm absolutely horribly at, plus I haven't touched the stuff in some years now.
I love dragons, hence the name Dragon King.
I love magic, hence the name The Shaman (it wasn't my first magic archetype user name).
I'm a pure traditionalist when it comes to drawing, I have a bambo wacom, but between the lack of connection with the drawing and my horrible computer's processing speed, trying to do digital drawings is not easy right now.
I have no clue how to draw sprites... I've looked for tutorials through google, specifically foe how to traditionally draw them but no such luck.
Anything else just ask.

If you just want to draw, maybe consider starting up a thread in the Creative Corner?

There is no way of drawing sprites traditionally, although i guess you could get some grid paper and practice using a few shades of graphite as your color palette. Virtually any pixel art tutorial would help you then.
I reccommend you look up Derek Yu's pixel art tutorial. It is very helpful and complete, geared towards illustration more than actual pixelling (although there's quite a bit of that in there as well).
I'd link it to you but i'm on the phone and shit sucks.
Welcome to rmn btw.
