HIGHLANDER'S REALM ("D&D" FORUM RPG)
Posts
Leara grabs the three sticks of incense not used for the ritual and bags them.
After Leara and Aldus leave, Aldus shuts the door and goes outside to the battlement. The only windows are from the outside, and they are made of a dark stained-glass. They're too high to see into clearly, but you can see the mirror.
Agnelia lights the incense and the room begins to fill with the powerful scent of lilac and blood. She unwraps the mirror and folds the cloth and wrappings. The mirror begins to swirl with mist as Agnelia sits on the pillow and inhales the incense deeply. She immediately goes numb in all parts of her body and only mental discipline ensures that she retains her deep breathing and eye-contact with the mirror. After half an hour the the mist in the mirror begins to poor out and surround Agnelia. Parts of the mist begin to take the shape of fellow acolytes of the temple. When the mist is completely emptied from the mirror, the backside of a female Drow appears. The Drow is hunched over many papers and reading by candlelight. Almost in surprise, she turns around and looks directly into Agnelia's eyes.
"Oh, it's Agnelia! What are your troubles this time?"

As soon as I notice that the windows are the only way to look into the room, I take a few steps back and cast Chaotic Summon.
"So you were a servant of this goddess Viria as well, Leara? You seemed less than enthusiastic about her this whole time. What do you suppose is going to happen to Agnelia in there?"
My Chaotic Magic roll is a 3.

A blue ball of light forms in front of Aldus and transforms into a ball-shaped creature with four long, slender wings. It has one eye.
How big is this creature? My goal is to try and sit/stand on top of it so that I can see into Agnelia's room better. I doubt that summon is powerful enough to lift me while flying, but if it can, all the better.
I'll also do a quick Arcana check to make out some of its properties. I rolled another 10, which turns into a total score of 19.

It's an Azaeta Seul, a minor angel. It's small and can carry any creature as long as it's within 1 size category of it (Size categories go: Diminutive-Tiny-Small-Medium-Large-Huge-Colossal)
It also can see invisible creatures and create a burst of daylight once per day that blinds all creatures withing 30 feet of it, and confuses all creatures within 60 feet of it. A constitution save would negate the effect.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

"I'm lost. All others at the temple have killed themselves. They told me that I now carried their power, but gave no explanation. They told me that I would go on to bring a new world, but I have never even seen this one. There's something else inside me now, and I don't know what it is. I don't know what to do. I seek guidance."
That is perfect! I sit down on top of the Azaeta Seul and tell it to fly in front of the window (though not too close). I spy on what's going on inside, while the summon should keep an eye on our surroundings and look for anything invisible. You never know.
The windows are dark and make the room even more dim, and the room is filled with a thick mist. You see Agnelia looking into the mirror, but the mirror is placed so that you cannot get a good look at it from any of the windows.
The Drow listens and wait a few moments before giving her reply.
"Typical hasty surface dwellers... well, you did have the dream, right? Could you not make sense of it?"

I try to remember.
"There was a robed man. A... plane walker. I don't know how I know that. I don't even know what a plane walker is."
I bite the end of my finger thoughtfully.
"I should kill him, I know that much."
"I don't know who he is, though, or how to find him. So many people were trying to tell me what to do, but they were all saying different things, they were just echoes, I couldn't understand. And then, the rest of it..." I begin to get a headache. "There was more but I don't remember. I'm sorry. I had to leave, there was no food here, and so when I had the dream I wasn't in the temple. It was all murky."
"Is there a way to see it again?"

"Is there a way to see it again?"
"Yes, the planes walker. He's an enemy of Viria's plan to get back at the original souls for deserting her."
When you hear 'original souls' Agnelia immediately knows she is talking about Carthiser, Harmonia, Dissidius, and Deisk and what each of these gods do/have done as per the lore in the OP, except that Dissidius actively tries to remove Viria from his realm, Harmonia and Deisk attempt to capture her, and Carthiser would destroy her without a second thought.
"In short, he can travel between the realms of the original souls as freely as you could walk across land. Usually it's very difficult to cross the barriers between the realms. Now, you want the dream again? Very well..."
the Drow begins chanting and waving her arms and fingers in a hypnotic motion. Agnelia's vision blurs as she goes into a dream-like trance.
The Beyond. An infinite place of pure chaos, where energies are so thick they're visible as colors, and great serpentine beings roam about, reveling in the colors. Proteans.
The Planes-walker appears, robed and hooded in plain brown robes. Hate.
Hate him.
Hate him with all your being.
His soul is eternal. Souls shouldn't be eternal. Destroy his soul! Beware.
The beast appears into vision, it looks like a protean but it is bound by darkness. It is putrid smelling and it's three-pronged maw oozes acidic saliva. It serves the plane walker. It is dangerous. Kill it only when you are ready.
Afterwards Agnelia's vision is restored and she looks at the Drow who asks
"Do you need more guidance?"

"I think I understand. Thank you."
Awaken.
Awaken.
(Hey, this sounds familiar. Funnily enough, when Agnelia first appeared, out of character I thought the "robed man" in her vision that she must kill was supposed to be Aldus. Good to know I was wrong.)
I am slightly upset that space seems to keep trying to get in the way of me trying to look at what's happening with Agnelia and this mirror. These so-called laws of physicality mean nothing, and soon I shall be ready to leave them behind for good. Very soon.
Seeing that Agnelia begins to stir again, I order my summon to put me back down next to Leara, and look expectantly at her, waiting for her to answer the questions I asked her half an hour ago.

The mist clears and the mirror is wrapped. Agnelia regains control of her body.
The Azata floats to the battlement and drops Aldus on it.

I am occupying myself playing my lute aimlessly when Aldus lands. Apparently, he still wants an answer to question. "What sort of answer were you hoping for, Aldus? Didn't you get your answer while flying your glowing bird thing? I'd imagine you saw her go into some kind of trance in front of the mirror. I doubt you saw anything that was worth ignoring her privacy over. If there's anything you don't understand about, I'll tell you. Or do you mean your other question? Yes, I was a servant of this temple's goddess. Now, I am not, and I fear for Agnelia. What of it?"
(Out of character, I'm wondering about the mirror. Silver glass mirrors weren't invented until the late 1800s. Silver mirrors before this time were generally not preferred because of how easily they tarnished. Now, bearing this in mind, in this world, do Drow artifacts in this world disintegrate in the sunlight? In regular DnD, this happened because the metal adamantine is present in Drow products and Drow adamantine could not be exposed to the sunlight. If this remains true for the Highlander's Realm, how can this mirror survive next to a window?)

I wrap the cloth back around the mirror.
I take the pillow with me. Is the mirror too big to take? I take the mirror if it's small enough, otherwise I leave it.
I open the door and breathe in the fresh air as I greet Aldus and Leara.
"Thank you sincerely for making me come back here. I found what I was seeking in prayer. I'm ready to leave if you are."

The windows are extremely tinted.
And when I say he "Saw Agnelia" I was merely stating what was the most likely thing he actually did see. It was more of a drowned out figure.
(I should have gone with my original plan of using Prestidigitation to give the glass of the windows a lighter colour. Because apparently that is totally a thing I could have done.)
"Ah, welcome back, Agnelia. I'm glad to hear talking to a mirror made you feel better. If you still want to keep us company, I'd say you are more than welcome as long as you don't surrender to death, unlike your past companions. Come, let us find the mines.
I see you've decided to make this pillow your main weapon, now. Not a bad choice, and likely more comfortable for the head than a whip."
During this whole conversation, it is impossible to deduct from my voice and facial expression whether I'm being jokingly sarcastic or completely sincere.

(So, does she have the mirror or not?)
"Yes, let's get out of here. This whole place gives me a very uncomfortable feeling. Let's go to the mines!"

Oh no, the mirror was huge and bolted to the floor.
Anyways, I'll edit this with the thing.
-------Turn 1-------
The trio begins their way towards the mine first by backtracking back to the road, then heading towards it. Soon the mine is in sight, two gigantic rocks in a clearing lean up against each other and form an alcove where a dark cave entrance is. Carts full of rocks are strewn about and ore is piled near a furnace. Various tools are laying about and there isn't a single person visible.
Until a female elf with a long-bow bursts from the foliage at the edge of the clearing and stops to regard you before turning around and yelling "Ice Wraiths, incoming!" and no sooner do three ice wraiths burst from the foliage behind her then another female's scream is heard in the opposite direction, with a human girl carrying a staff rushing into the clearing and trips on a rock, as a giant spider emerges, apparently chasing after her.
----------------
The original trio stands in between the two newcomers! The human is being attack by a giant spider! The elf is being attacked by three ice wraiths!
