Gourd sighed. No-one was listening to him or his theories. It was all a bit disheartening really. He looked up as the group approached, a noose swinging from their hands.
"Gourd, we've talked it over and decided that this is probably the best outcome for town."
Gourd sighed again. Typical.
He didn't put up a fight as they threw the noose around his neck, nor say a word when the pulled it tight over a tree branch and raised him off the ground with their combined strength.
Gourd went quietly into that goodnight and it left a mark on those who'd pulled the rope.
"Damn, he really was town, wasn't he?" one of them whispered. The others fidgeted slightly, not looking at each other, then made their excuses and left the body strung up, gently swaying in the breeze.
GOURD_CLAE was lynched Day Phase 3. They were TOWN.

All are doing their own thing when a scream rings out from across the town. Everyone rushes to the point of origin - the town clocktower. At the bottom of the tower lies the broken body of Crystal-Mint. From the looks of it, she's been pushed from the top of the building.

Well, I'm sorry Gourd. I was 99.9% sure of myself when I voted you as Mafia.
I understand that I have been set up to take the fall for this. By Kloe. Who decided to turn this into a Gourd VS Maki vote affair at the last minute during the previous day phase. (an action I find suspicious)
I will be upfront and honest about my moves from yesterday:
I gave the null-vote to Joroen.
I had the double-vote from Crystal and used it to vote for Gourd and Kloe.
There's five of us left. Today is important. If there are two more mafia members, we lose tonight if we hang a townie. If there's one mafia left, then we have some leeway, but not much. We need to be smart today.
Theory wise, I don't have much. Either Kloe and piano were working together, forced the tirade to make her look innocent, and then pulled the 'Maki VS Gourd' tactic to try to force me to take the fall for Gourd's innocence OR;
Someone is pulling our strings very carefully.

Interestingly enough, Crystal is the first Mafia kill that wouldn't count as 'experienced' from this forum's PoV compared to their other kills. I actually suspected it would be Joroen to be killed by Mafia last night. As far as I know, Joroen is experienced and also doesn't have much suspicion currently on them compared to the rest of us.
This could be for one of three reasons - piano was the one who was encouraging picking off the experienced players and whoever is left isn't following that trend/doesn't know who counts as experienced and who doesn't.
All remaining mafia accounts for all remaining experienced players.
Or Crystal was becoming a threat.
I'm going to read over Crystal's posts from yesterday after I sleep and see if anything can be gleaned from them.
Ah there could be a reason four - That Crystal was one of the few remaining people who has never been accused for anything. Keeping people who have been accused around (YM, RABBIT, and myself especially) makes the most sense. I can't recall Joroen being called out for much either, not in comparison, though.

I voted for Gourd and nulled him too.
I'd blame this on the fact that I'm always asleep during the final hours of the days, but if I'm honest, I don't think I would have changed my mind if I had been awake. I fucked up bad.
I think it may be a combination of these two reasons. Maybe scum decided to break the trend of killing off "experienced" players, and then decided to kill CrystalMint because she had no heat on her.
Something also hit me this night. I'd always been operating on the assumption of a three-man scum team. This is also the reason why I thought Makio passing the Null vote to me proved her innocence. I didn't think scum would pass the Null vote to a townie.
Based on the number of players, I still think a three-man scumteam is very likely, but I realized that none of the modkilled players ever had their alignment revealed. Maybe fearful or aetherrevival was scum? Then there would be only one scum left, and they would have to pass their powers on to townies.

The final hours of the last day just made me even more sure it was Gourd. :/ It wasn't until I went to sleep that I starting thinking 'what if gourd is townie and that was all a really elaborate play?' So yeah... This was a big mistake on all our parts.
That's an interesting point about the mod-kills. Now I am very curious what their alignments were. Hopefully Libby will be willing to divulge that information for us. I just figured the lack of saying anything meant that they were town, but that's a baseless assumption.
Looking at who is left, I really don't know where to go from here. RABBIT still feels like a wrong choice; piano targeting RABBIT and bringing it so close to piano and RABBIT hanging on the same night feels way too risky a play for them to both be mafia.
I still want to believe that Joroen is townie, but the thought did cross my mind that they might be shadow puppetting this whole thing.

No, it wouldn't have been smart for them to kill off you or me. Keeping you around to keep the heat on me and convince town to hang me only makes sense and keeping me around to take that fall is a pretty obvious plan.
It makes more sense that they'd take out someone like Crystal than either of us.

Ah, I voted YM as Mafia near the beginning of Day 3, as I was convinced that YM was a mafia, mostly due to the speculation surrounding him.
