So the other day I was playing Dyntasy Warriors 4, which is an all-time favorite of mine and I wondered could I recreate this in RPG Maker. I mean having a slash-em-up beat fest would be fun and awesome to play but I would make your troops actually help you. You would have campaign and such and i was thinking about asking the community. Do you think it its right for RPG Maker?

Erm, maybe with some insane coding in VX and XP.
It could probably be done, but would most definitely suck.

Don't bother.

What do you think, man? :(
RPG Maker can do a lot of things, but this ain't one of 'em.

I thought that using an good ABS while making some tweaks could be good. Have like major battles fighting it out.
Why would you do this using RPG Maker, though?
Even if you could it wouldn't look as good as say the Dynasty Warriors games do and the coding part would probably kill you. I advise you not to try.

Look good? You mean graphical wise? or gameplay wise?

Also I do not know of any Action Maker, the only other make that might come close to is GameMaker which I don't think would fair much better. I mean it's basically an Abs on a higher scale.
Gamemaker would do this way better despite shitty performance.

This'll be terrible. RPGmaker simply does not have the architecture for this.

Architecture? explain, please.

Also although it might not be an RPG, people have been pushing the envelope for years, there making SIMS on RPG Maker and even Monopoly!. I think it would be interesting terrible or not to see how this would go.
Power or processing ability.

You can do it if you want, but sims are not exactly on the same level as Dynasty Warriors.

ABS games themselves already perform terribly and are rarely worth it.

I just really wanted some input on this idea, maybe that's what'll be the next thing Action RPG Maker 2009!! it would be pretty good.
Yeah i agree with Karsuman. Gamemaker would be better to do this kind of thing if you know how to properly use it. If you do consider making this i wish you the best of luck.
lol anything is possible in rpgmaker, not in the best looking terms and performance, but it is possible to be done decently. I already seen games that have around 50 enemies coming towards you fast paced with no lag at all...
It would still play like crap.
RM2K I know for a fact can do this with all the patches being released, but unfortunately you'll have to code a custom based movement system, and you can probably get an idea of what ya gotta do from there.

There's always ika which I think is the superior version of Game Maker.
No, don't try. You won't have pixel based movement, the collision detection would be horrible, and the amount of time it would take would not be worth it. You can do a lot of things in RM, but this type of system won't(and never will) succeed.

XP and VX, maybe. I'd wait for Action Game Maker.

Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

Technically, this could be done (with tons of scripting, obviously) but the lag would be horrendous. So yeah, AGM's your best bet.
