[RMVX ACE] MUSIC PROBLEM

Ok, so I want to have a different track play whenever an event is triggered.
I already have BGM for this area, I have the different BGM sent up in an event, where the normal BGM goes off at the beginning of the event then it starts the new track. this event is of course a parallel process triggered by a switch.
My problem lies when the event starts and the music plays, the regular BGM fades out as intended and it starts up the events music, then it does this weird skipping thing and just replays the skip over and over its really weird and idk what I'm doing wrong at all :/ have I overlooked something simple?

Screenshots will be helpful, but maybe you need to erase the event or set up a switch to turn it off.
All guessing at this point, though

Yes it sounds to me like the event that takes care of changing the track is resetting every so or so seconds, which would make it loop the same track over and over, but it's difficult to truly tell without more screens.

This is probably the problem. If that's the case, here's what's going on:
The music event has to be set to parallel process. If it's set to autorun, you can't regain control of the character. If it's set to anything else, you can't run the event.
Parallel process doesn't run once and end. It just keeps going to the end of the event and starts over and over again. What you have to do is exactly what InfectionFiles suggested: after you run your BGM, put a switch after it, set to on, create a new page, and set it to turn on with that switch.
I figured it out guys ^.^. I have to make a switch for the Main BGM, then when the event triggers turn that switch off and turn on a new switch for the event music then when that event is over toggle the Main BGM switch back on! Thanks Mirak and Pianotm you guys made me realize the issue with my event it was so obvious that it was repeating. Thanks you guys so much it really helped!!
