[RMMV] VARIED WALKING ANIMATIONS

I've been working on walk cycles for the characters in my game, Monster Garden (demo on RMN here).


I want to have as many different forms of movement as possible (not just standard humanoid two-legged walking), so I'm going for variety.

Each is four frames long. Do any stand out as too clunky, awkward, and/or ugly?

Looking for general feedback. Thanks. :)

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I'm not sure what the bubbly pink friend is actually doing. In the horizontal movement it seems to be moving backwards by butt-thrusting and then sliding up to its butt's location? But in the vertical movement it's facing the same direction it's moving.

The spinning hippo's vertical movement should be identical to its horizontal movement. Instead it's missing the facing-backwards frame and has two slightly different facing-left frames, which makes it not form a proper circle.

The vertical movement on Mr. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is cutting off the left edge of his hand in one of the frames. That might just be a problem with the gif you made; make sure it doesn't also happen in-game.

You're right, the pink furry friend does butt-thrust and slide while facing backwards, so the animation I showed for forwards is actually for backwards. It's just more interesting to see the front than the back. I'll fix this GIF so it's not confusing, though.

I tried making the spinning hippo have a standard spin (front-side-back-side), but then I thought having odd angles of the spin made it look like it was spinning at different speeds, and slightly insane. I had already made all the 3/4 angles, too, so I wanted to use them.

And I love the name for Mr. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)! That is just a mistake with the GIF that his hand cuts off, but I'll fix it.
