You know, I've been doing this for like a year now and I haven't thought to post this here. Man, what the heck.

Anyway, long story short, I started turning Fanfictions into Audiobooks because I had a lot of time washing dishes, biking, and cleaning, and not a lot of time I'd set aside to sit down and read. So, like all human endeavor, this is all due to laziness.

What makes my Audiobooks special? Well, for one, they're not terrible! No seriously, like UGH.

So, thankfully, voices have come a good way since then. I take a bit beyond the basic process.

1. General Spelling and Cleanup - I fix spelling mistakes (which sound horrible) and other little niggling issues.

2. Pronunciation - I go through and listen to all the new words, and make the engine pronounce them properly, or as close as I can get it.

3. Pauses - I add pauses to make comprehension easier. Between sentences, paragraphs, and within dialogue where appropriate.

4. Dialogue - The best feature is that I make Dialogue spoken at a different pitch, and thus it's like 20x easier to know when people are talking, and when they aren't.

I've got... 9 Audiobooks so far + 2 short stories.

They are:

The Legend of Sunset Shimmer: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Sacred Reliquary

Final Fantasy VI: The Novel

Final Fantasy XII: One Moment of Greatness

Hella Funtime Adventure Friends: The Novel

My Little Pony: Dueling is Magic

The Hitchiker's Guide to Ivalice

The Fall of Night

Final Fantasy Tactics: Purity Amidst Madness

If I were going to recommend anything to listen to out of that list, I would suggest Hella Funtime Adventure Friends, Sacred Reliquary, One Moment of Greatness, and Purity Amidst Madness in that order.

Oh, in the last video, I've got a link to the MP3s. I'm just a nice guy.

Kickass - I'm still catching up on a few audiobooks myself, so I'm pausing for about a month, but after that I'm pretty wide open on what I'm going to make next. I've got an immense list of potential fanfictions that I could do. Like, it's huge.

One thing this experience has taught me - the world needs more editors.

Once, as a joke for a friend, I turned Harry Potter 1 into an Audiobook, but I changed around a bunch of words to something hilarious and rude. It was glorious because it was already edited, and it was so fast...

If you were curious what words I changed... Wand - Penis, Muggle - Pigfucker, Broom - Dildo They're amazing.
This is amaze thanks for sharing Hexatona

The only audiobook I've ever listened to was Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. I don't remember who read it, but he was awesome. He even acted out all of the dialogue and did halfway decent imitations of the characters (his Lando Calrissian was a spot on Billy Dee Williams and his Princess Leia wasn't half bad either, even though you could tell he was talking in his falsetto. Dash Rendar came off sounding a little like a sleazy mobster, though.). Still, I actually prefer holding the book and reading it myself.

Oh, I got into audiobooks listening to H.P. Lovecraft, and Librivox books. I listened to a Star Wars audiobook once from the Library "Tarkin" and it was awesome. They did sound effects, Vader's voice, music, the fanfare - those are really great.
