Hello! My name is Prinnykaze and i need some help. I am a 21 year old with some time on my hands and i wanna make something...awesome out o it!
right now i have just brought RPGMV and i want to make a game. I want to create some kind of battle system on my known from nothing. I know that this is going to be a long project.
I've always been in love with video games my whole life and I finally have the money and time to buy my own program and work on some games of my own. but I want to know how to do it myself.
This is where i need help and ALOT of it which is why i'm reaching out to everyone and anyone on this system... I've never really coded before but there is always a start for something, and I wish to start.
So here is my question, Can anyone help me? :)
A mentor or other beginners like me, is there anyone out there? If so, please feel free to PM or if you can even guide me through a tutorial that i can read or watch, anything is better than nothing!
Of course I'll be doing research on my own, but help from this forum is definitely a great place to start!

Thank you so much for reading my plead!

Well, hello, Prinnykaze. I see you have good taste in naming. Also, welcome!

Unfortunately, I am unable to help, as I know little about coding. All I can say is, try posting in the "Help Me!" forum about this issue. Someone is sure to help, someone much more useful than me.

It is also possible to get someone to make the battle system for you, in the "Programming and Plugins" forum. People are often willing to help make plugins/scripts there.

Hope that helps.
Thank you oddRABBIT! anything helps so i'll get over to that spot and see what they can do!
Hi Prinny, welcome to RMN.

Well you probably could jump in and code a battle system from scratch with no prior knowledge, there are definitely much better ways to learn. I'd recommend playing around with the program, making a game with the default battle system, edit and hack some scripts together, and get a feel for things before diving off the deep end. But if you're stuck there are definitely people on Help/slack that can steer you right.

Good luck on your game!
Yes i definitely agree with that psy_wombats, I've being doing alot of trial and error with the battle script that came with the system, so i've been getting the feel for it. I just wish it would let post more than one time a day XD
I have to wait till tomorrow in order to post on the other forum.
Welcome to RMN! Enjoy your stay!
If MV is anything like XP you can get tons of mileage from just experimenting with the basic editor. I've been able to make plenty of unique game mechanics without touching the scripting part of the editor.
