So, Whats your Style?

Do you like to use RTP style sets and make medievel games?

Do you like to use more modern style Tileset for present or futurist games?

Or do you like to step outside the Rpg style of game and make Puzzles or Platformers?

What style do you like to make?

I use RTP and make high-evil games.
I use more modern style Tileset for present or futurist games.
I tend to use the RTP sytle graphics for my games, but im trying out more present style tilesets

but im sticking to making Rpgs, no crazy games
Depends entirely on the subject matter of the game. I am not adverse to any common RPG genre.
I got over RTP and now focusing on my own graphics.
I like modern and medieval.

I am making a platformer RPG as well as Visual Novels if that's counted.

I have attempted so many different kinds of projects, and completed a bunch of them too.

RTP Gladiatorial Medieval Fantasy Game (Mage Duel).
Non-RTP Medieval Fantasy Game, Traditional jRPG Style.
Science Fiction Traditional RPG, jRPG style.
Science Fiction RPG, CRPG style, with a time limit, a la Sentient.
Supernatural Horror (Period Piece!) RPG
Psychological Horror Adventure Game, i.e. Survival Horror Game.
Shadowrun fangame!
Final Fantasy Tactics fangame that was set in a modern urban setting. (This didn't get too far.)

And my current project is a science fiction RPG using a very atypical structure, which is basically designed to be episodic, very much like a television show.
Lately I've tended to go towards a bit abstract. Since I'm not overly good at making graphics my aim is to do abstract floormaps with characters as dots or circles or other represenations.

Some time I'd like to (haven't yet) combine the abstract map-based graphics with cut-scenes in pictures, much like the game Hotel Dusk for DS.

Another thing I've considered is using photographs. Taking a bunch of shots of a person in different stances and stitching them together for an animation and using photographed backgrounds.

And last but not least I've tried to emulate LEGOs.

So yeah, overall the style is towards simplicity and suckiness at pixelgraphics. I also like low-evil games.
Modern, because there aren't any modern RPGs around, even though I would probably be better at using medievel style chips.
Generally in the past I have stuck to games that are ambiguous timewise. I like relatively futuristic settings, without being too sci-fi. My favorite settings are modern.

I am currently working with a game that is pretty much ambiguous timewise, since it's not set in any definitive time, but there is a slight magical aspect to it. I am also working on a couple things that are set in modern times, both with horror aspects.
I have a mystery game set in early 1900s San Francisco, and another game that jumps all over the place.

So, uh, generally I prefer modern settings, and I really tend to dislike an extremely strong fantasy theme.

I never use RTP-style anymore and I stick with Terranigma or Theodore.

My games are characterized by excessive atmospherical effects, custom (usually battle) systems, and being very short. Actually, they're mostly tech demos.

I tend not to make RPGs, either. Unless I'm working in a group.
Most of my future projects are going to be medieval-fantasy, and are probably going to take place in the same universe. I've got Catastrophe's plot loosely fleshed out, and I plan on expanding the storyline. I'll venture outside the safe walls of a pre-designed atmosphere from time to time, though.

I tend to try and use lower numbers for my HP and stats in my games. This is mostly because I CAN'T MAKE A MONSTER WITH MORE THAN 99999 HP but I figure it also improves the playability and appeal somewhat. It also makes balancing a snap.

That's one of the things that made the Paper Mario games so god damn awesome.
Essentially sci-fi with fantasy elements. I try to avoid Earth as a setting and try to concentrate all my game ideas into the same setting (Star-La galactic kingdom).

I work with my original graphics since they are the only ones that match my ideas precisely. While I go for the standard JRPG style in manhy aspects, I like to break the unreasonable things that every jRPG has, so my focus is on making everything feel logical to my setting, both in systems and plot.
My favorites are always the mideval sets, honestly.

But my style focuses more on the characters and the story I want to tell about them before I even think about that.
