EVER OASIS

A game I hope doesn't get over shadowed at E3 is the new Nintendo IP made by the guy who created Secret of Mana and worked on the old Final Fantasy games.

Ever Oasis so far looks a lot like the kinda game I'd want to make if I could make a 3D game.

It's Egyptian aesthetics are beautiful. And if you know me, African themed gaming is my thing. Sure it's just Egypt the overhyped part of Africa lol but still I think this is progress.
And the game play in battle and exploration are like a cross between Zelda and Secret of Mana. Plus there is ever a town building element as well.

P.S. This character Tethu is not only Nintendo's first black main character but also he/she (You get to choose gender from what I hear) could be the first playable black person in Smash.

I saw the spotlight at E3's stream of this game. It seems pretty interesting!

I too prefer more black characters, especially black Egyptians.

Damn, that looks nice. I will definitely keep an eye out for this game. Hopefully the game isn't too simplistic. But, I just have this BURNING LOVE for desert themes, and also that art style is very fetching.

Stand back. Artist at work. I paint with enthusiasm if not with talent.

I don't want to shit on this game but it looks so generic.

Maybe it's partially my fault because i've been playing lots of DS rpg's lately and i'm starting to feel weary of that chibified 3d model style. I get that the style works for games like this that want a light hearted and whimsical feel to it while giving characters huge faces that they can display a wider range of emotion with and that is a lot more economic to model but i've just seen it too much lately, i think this kind of game would have benefited with a more realistic take on anatomy, like what Avalon Code did which also had cutesy characters but nailed the middleground between realistic and superdeformed.

Ehhh, I guess it just doesn't bother me so much. If they are really simplistic, then yeah, it's tiresome. If you're going to have the chibi style, you need to make each character very unique and vibrant to stand out - something I appreciate. Like Romancing Saga Minstrel Song, Legend of Legacy, Opoona (to a certain extent).

Maybe it's just polygon economy. I love that the 3DS has the games that it does, but I think the polycount between full and mini models makes it just not worth it.
Well cute stuff is fine by me and considering the lead dude was the guy who invented Chocobos and Moogles in Final Fantasy, it makes sense that he'd be all about the cuteness.

If you guys/girls check out the gameplay footage on youtube they demo a dungeon that reminded me of the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time. That was one of my favorite Zelda temples. Maybe I should post that video too?
Each team member seems to be able to solve different types of puzzles which is also worth noting. I'm not sure how many team members there are though.
