NINTENDO'S NEXT SYSTEM IS... THE NES!
Posts
Then don't buy it. This release isn't even targeted at people like us. It's for people who casually liked Nintendo when they were growing up.

Just get an emulator and a decent controller for your PC. This is a waste of money.
Or you could actually purchase these games since ROMs aren't really legal, you know.

Plug-n-play Atari, Genesis: Cool
Plug-n-play NES: PANIC. HATRED. NINTENDO IS DOOMED.
???
To be fair this happens anytime Nintendo does something.

^This. I don't know why everyone is quick to jump on the "NINTENDO IS DOOMED" train.

Well...
Both Atari and Sega did basically go poof.

Sucking out money from gullible people should be illegal too.
What's the difference in me getting a ROM and buying it second-hand from some private person? Does me giving money to some random dude benefit Nintendo in some way?
They should have gone with the SNES for this instead, would have been alot more popular. SNES also had alot more good games and alot of them haven't aged quite as badly as the NES ones have. Cue angry people naming ten games for the NES they love.

Now don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure businesses exist to make money.
Most people who haven't played video games since the late 80s are going to know or care to go online to download roms on some sketchy site and setup an emulator. You buy a tiny machine that hooks up to your TV and you're done with it. And no, hooking up your PC to the TV is not a viable option to a lot of people.
This is the exact same argument that's brought up in Mario Maker "lol you can make better levels with Lunar Magic since forever why isn't everyone a basement nerd like me????????????"

So it's a copy of an old console but you can't use the old games for it. Sounds great.

A decent controller probably costs more than sixty bucks.
I think it's probably less. For example you could use a PS3 controller which costs something like 40 dollars. But I'm guessing you're gonna have to buy games for the NES-thing too so even if you pay more you'll end up saving money in the end.
I guess it is convenient, so there's that.
And as it seems anything that is convenient, no matter the price, sells. They could probably have set the price alot higher and most people wouldn't have complained.
Well, my guess is that a bunch of people will buy it when it comes out and then it will be forgotten in a week.
@Pizza

You every time you address me. It's getting tiring.
Actually, SnowOwl I feel that's the face you make at everything these days. Or maybe you constantly have it along with the mindset. You're just overly negative, dude.
author=InfectionFilesI suppose it's because my posting habits have changed. I only post when I want to discuss something here at RMN now and haven't really participated in other stuff like events in a while. And well, things that are discussed here are mostly things that will get me looking like I'm negative since I don't share the majoritys opinion. Well, I'll try to tone it down. I have a very positive mindset, normally.

I getcha, I actually don't agree with some of the majority mindsets here. It's just one of those things. I've just been seeing your posts and thinking if at some point you get bitter in this field. You're a cool guy and I like your work, just hate to see that decline in personality.
Again, I get it. I'm really positive most of the time but I take it out on this place sometimes(usually when I'm drinking)

I'm mostly "meh" about this, but, I never had a NES, so...
*shrugs*
A SNES would be cooler, though. Might come if this sells well enough.
