CloseI am trying to broaden my skills for my hobby and i am asking for critics and opinions on this small animation i am working on. It isn't complete, but it is going to progress in this similar style.

This is good. You still could use some dithering to give the sprite more depth though.
I see you avoided jaggies for most of the sprite, but there's still a bit here and there, like the hair part right above the ear which has a 3px-long section when the previous were of 2px, and the little tuft of hair at the right also has a complex configuration, idk if that little tuft could be fixed though, it looks nice as it is despite the jaggy lines.
I'd suggest increasing the frame spreed and mirroring the eye closing animation so it includes an opening animation like so

as for animation it isn't done. The character is going to be drawing on her digital tablet and starts to fall asleep, but will catch herself then wake up shortly after. It will be a full body sprite at the end.
That is why the mouth starts to close. It just looks weird as a blinking animation
