[RMXP] BATTLE MUSIC WON'T PLAY?

Hi there!
I've been starting out with a game on RPG Maker XP. I've changed the battle music a few times, because I change my mind easily. I tried a custom song, then one of the default songs, and then another default song. Well, I've noticed something. When I enter one dungeon/random encounter area I've created, the battle music plays wonderfully. When I play into a different dungeon/random encounter area, the battle music refuses to play at all.Sound effects work. The victory music plays at the end. Battle music is dead. I've even tried editing a troop so that an event would play the music in the battle, (and show some text, to make sure the conditions are being met). The text showed, but the battle music would not play at all. I'm utterly confused and worried. Does anyone have any advice?

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I can think of two main possibilities.
There's an event command on the first page of event command, on the lower right side, called "Change Battle BGM." The first possibility is that some event in your game is using this event command to change the music to silence, or to a song that you deleted.
The second option is that you didn't use this event command at all, and the only place you set the battle music is in the System tab of the database. But you're loading a saved game that was saved in an old version of the game, before you changed the music. The game's battle music is only set to what you put in the database when the player starts a new game. It's not reset to that song every time they load their game, because as mentioned above you can change it mid-game, and you wouldn't want each area's custom battle music to get overwritten.
Either way, the fact that battles are silent is most likely caused by the game trying to play a music file that you deleted. If you're completely replacing a song in your game, an easy way to avoid this is to use the same filename as the old song. This is why it's helpful to name your song "Normal Battle.mp3" even if it has a proper name. You should put a text file in the music folder listing the music credits though so you don't forget them (and you should put those credits in-game once you're done making the game).

Thank you very much! I had a very patient friend (who find bug fixing to be like a puzzle game) go through my game with me to help figure out how to find the event command that was wrecking my battle music. I'm going to try to fix it and test the game later. :) Thanks again. You helped us a lot.
