How do you guys create text for a custom menu that will have a transparent background and NO blurred or anti-aliased parts to it, so as to appear clear from the background but also legible. Software or methods welcome. FYI I am currently using Inkscape a vector art program
I'm not sure how every one else does it, but I use this utility:

You can either make your own pixel font, which tends to look best, or use a system font with anti-alias disabled. Note that some of the system fonts look pretty bad with anti-alias disabled, so you may need to test a few to find one you like.

You can also drag-drop in a background or set the background color and use anti-alias to match that color. But that only works if the background will be relatively consistent.

This is a godsend! Thank you for this tool. I was quickly able to produce over 200 CMS parts in about 15 mins with some learning and work arounds. This will make this and future projects WAY easier.
Glad to hear it's working out for you! It's not very well known, so if you have a chance to share it, I encourage you to do so.
DOne and done, I shared it on a similar post over on the RPM Web forums
