I have just downloaded a good deal of Lunar sprites and tilesets for my Lunar fan game. I was wondering if tilesets and sprites you can get from places like Spriters Resource and etc are compatible with RMVXA and if so if there are any specific or special steps I need to tske to make them work. Particularly in the generate dungeon function. Thanks.
From a quick glance at Spriter's Resource, I'd suggest using the import option so that you can select a "transparent" color. I'm not sure how well the tilesets there fit RPG Maker (any version), so, that might be an experiment to see how that goes as either a parallax map, or as a regular map.
How the tilesets could be used with the "generate dungeon" option would depend on how well the tilesets fit VX Ace. I know that the option in question goes off the "A" layer for ground and floor style, and that it uses, like, ten tiles of wall before it draws any amount of floor-tile.

You're probably going to need to learn how the tilesets work and adapt the ripped resources yourself using a graphics program like GIMP or Photoshop. Each video game has its own engine and way of sorting things, most of which are not terribly intuitive, so it's unlikely you'll be able to use anything "out of the box." It may even be impossible, depending on the sizes of the assets.
The good news is that there are plentiful tutorials and templates, so if it IS possible to adapt the tilesets, it shouldn't be too big a task to teach yourself how. If nothing else, it'll help you understand how the engine works with mapping, which is helpful for future projects!
If the tiling doesn't work out for you, you can try parallax mapping. Then you don't have to give a crap about tiles at all! :V
Good luck, mang! I hope it's a doable project for you!
