TABLETOP D20/TACTICAL COMBAT MECHANICS

I was wondering if there were any projects that have worked on getting D20 style mechanics into their games? What I would like to do is to make a map grid style battle ala FF Tactics with D20 mechanics for the gameplay. I know there are debates on having randomness determine outcomes, etc...but I really enjoy the tactical combat style (XCOM, Fallout 1/2, etc) and would like to tap into some nostalgia as well. Kind of how the Stranger Things brought back a lot of good memories :)

So if anyone has any advice, links to scripts or whathaveyou, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!

PS I am currently using RPG Maker VX Ace.
I don't have any scripts or anything, but Crimson Shroud on the 3DS implemented the D20 mechanics pretty well, I thought. Used the touch screen to roll the dice and everything.

That's neat. I will have to take a look.

You might want to look into GubiD's Tactical Combat System as a script. I don't know about emulating D20 mechanics, but, it's definitely a tactical turn-based system that can be set up as an FFT-like. If I recall, it comes with the Layy Meta-Engine, which is a script that can give maps a 3D perspective. I've never personally used the Layy Engine, so, I don't really know how complex it is to make maps with it.

Excellent. This will help immensely. Now if I can just figure out how to get some the basic D20 rule mechanics, I should be golden :)
