Close@Harmonic: The priestess spell effect does not seem to be pixel art. Not exactly sure on the process used on it, though. I can't tell for sure since the whole thing is jpged, but if it isn't pixel art, I would replace it with one that is. If it already was, then that is nicely done then.

Yeah, trying it for fun or for practice is good, even if you think you won't win. Besides, $25 isn't all that much anyway. It'd still be good to get critiqued on your piece, and to simply just try one out. Who knows, maybe you'll do a better job than you think you would? So even if you aren't a pixel artist, it'd be at least a good experiment.

I'd like to see more people trying out pixel art and stop saying I'm not an artist I can't do this. I was at that point before until I started, pixel art is really fun if people give dedication at it. IMHO, I just started last year, I think people will be better than me if they start now and practice constantly.

Also, the rules didn't say anything about animation. I'm assuming that means that it's A-OKAY to make a .gif? I don't really want to, but at the same time....

I recommend zooming on it, it looks better. xD
I have used 21 colors, just the same as Ocean! Pretty funny. ^^
It was hard for me because I decided to use the same colors as for my game:
