SPHERE VS IKA VS GAME MAKER

Well these are the only ones that I've considered to be good RPG Development engines"though all can do any type of game" Gm might be easier to learn, and with DLLs you can have python, javascript or the industry standard C/C++.

Sphere RPG Maker:
Well definatly made for RPGs, it's pretty easy to use right out of the box and with it's robust editor any game can be made with it, and it's open source. Though it doesn't support DLLs and can't change the game language"what a shame"

ika RPG Maker:
Great at developing RPGs and uses a cool language called Python, it's very simple to learn and with it you can create great RPGs and devlop an authentic Mode7 like from FF6, Seiken Densetsu3, 2.5D etc.
This is a bit more customizable than Sphere is but it uses a better language, lacking a good community and userbase it's not use widely on the internet, sphere on the other hand is used by a lot of people all over the internet and it's be updated regulary"ever 6 months I think"

Game Maker:
Game Maker is supposed to be able to devlop any type of game, with DLLs you can get access to C/C++, Python, Javascript, Pearl etc. Game Maker is really good at game engines with it's own languag "GML" I've have been able to get other languages working, just C/C++ and Python. Game Maker is becoming a very powerful engine and with it's enormous userbase you should have absolutely no problem learning this dev tool. Is it good at Creating RPGs? Well thats really up to the coder, create engines is easy, I myself can code a Legend of Zelda Engine, Chrono trigger engine, Chrono Cross engine"probably, never tried" Engines are easy, but like the above makers it's just as hard at creating rpgs than other genres since they all have a similar type gui"well at least sphere anyway" I prefer game maker to sphere but creating dialog"RPG" is probably the hardest thing to do. I'm creating a RPG engine so people shouldn't have to worry about dialog, it'll resemble the ones from the snes,ds,gba type games.

I kinda like Game Maker"with dlls" over the above makers, you can code strictyl in C++ with Game maker an all externally if you're good enough, if you're that good the editor really becomes useless, basically open up start a project and thats it.

Sphere/ika are beng left behind because there not being updated regulary, even GM7 is more powerful than the above engines, because of DLLs alone it's just as good. It's api/language is just as fast as Python and Javascript.

POST NOW!
This topic is going to become very funny when WIP posts.

First of all, this is a pretty poorly made post. Second of all, retort time.

You are looking at this far too narrowly and shows a lack of understanding on how these engines work. ika does not natively allow you to do "Mode7", which is not even an accurate term. Just one example.

You can create any kind of game with any engine. Sphere has a fairly evolved editor, but it does not streamline content production.

You can make an equivalent of DLLs for ika. You are able to create .pyd files, which is compiled C code that has Python hooks, quite easily. I have written a small PYD that contains a rudimentary 3D engine and advanced color blending.

You can make a Legend of Zelda engine in Sphere/ika/GM. I have no idea WTF you mean by "Chrono Trigger" engine, so I will assume you mean combat on walking maps. Again, easily doable in all engines. After creating multiple versions of this, I would say it is far easier than separated battle screens.

Chrono Cross engine means what, exactly? Are you talking about maps made with prerendered backdrops with an invisible 3D mesh to determine obstructions? Yeah I've done that in ika as well.

Please do not even compare the abomination known as GML to Python and JavaScript. Python and JavaScript are both great languages that have matured over decades.

And I swear you have posted this drivel in the past.
