For anyone who's interested, here is a list of ranking for characters for the various Smash games. I think that the SSB list is incredibly accurate (except that I would have ranked Link in the middle at position 9.). I didn't play Melee, so I have no opinion there, but in Brawl I see a lot of surprises. Meta Knight? Really?? He has like no knock-off attacks! And Kirby and Ike seem too low.
Anywho, for those interested, discuss!

I love how all the characters I use in SSBB are in low tier (Lucas, Pokemon Trainer, Link.)
Lucas is by far my favorite, I usually have no problem playing with him, I'm pretty good if I do say so myself.

I like Pit, Sonic, Diddy Kong and Ike the best in Brawl. (Pit gets +100 Bias Points because I loved Kid Icarus so much)

I fight with Zelda. And you better believe I play Zelda in Princess form. Sheik is overrated! People like to make fun of me playing as Zelda. I was much better with Roy honestly and his removal makes my blood boil. BUT.
Tiers are definately for wankers. In everything from Pokemon to Smash Brothers...
The variety of the characters is one of the things I like about the game. I'd be damned if I'm going to play as the same set of characters just so I can learn top tier characters. I select random unless there's someone in particular I want to play as and even then its not for more than a few rounds.

My brother is a murderer with Yoshi.
He could beat all of Event modes tough challanges
with Yoshi, including Giga Bowser.

Mr. Game & Watch is my number one guy, but I can hold my own with any character in Brawl. If you think a character is useless, then you're probably not using them correctly!
Take Sonic, for example. He's really, really, really fast, the fastest runner in the cast. But, all his attacks are pretty weak and have very little knockback. On top of that, he's not that heavy, so he gets knocked out at lower percents. He's difficult to win with...unless you use his speed to your advantage. You can run circles around you opponents and slowly wear them down, until even Sonic's pitiful knockback would KO them. It's all about strategy!
Oh, also...
