You have ten points. Use these points to buy BONUSES for yourself. You can gain additional points by taking as many PENALTIES as you want. Unused points are not allowed.
Please try to not carbon-copy somebody else's character. This may or may not be for a real project (who the hell knows with Craze) so...!
A small blurb about your character, a name, some war cries, whatever are acceptable but not necessary. Come up with all or none of those--the emphasis is on the point spending!
---------
Weaponskill With no points in this, you fight with clubs, javelins and daggers. At four points, you are able to wield any weapon. At the maximum of five points, your weapons attack twice in the time it takes for a normal person to attack.
Armorskill With no points in this, you wear leather armor and fight with small buckler-esque pot lids (some call them "shields"). At a height of four points, you have the shoulders to bear great obsidian armor and the brawny arms to hold a dragonscale shield.
Trinketskill With no points in this, bits and bobs mean little to you. At a maximum of two points, however, even the oddest bauble can lend you its power.
Output Maxing With no points in this, you inflict as much pain with your weapons as a farmhand could. At a full four points, your physical attacks are stronger than a bull.
Mystic Affiliation Within this path are three sub-paths: bright, deep, and universal. While universal sages tend to cast spells upon all their foes, those who focus on bright or deep energy deal more concentrated blows. With no points in any branch, you are incapable of casting those magics. At a height of four points in each, you wield the power of a mighty magician in that area.
Utilitarianism With no points in this, your spells and weapon feats are pure damage. At four points, you manage to turn around any situation with your rogueish cunning and creative mind. At a full five points, your knack for making things easy blossoms as you gain the power to make enemies come near or stay away (this is done by making clicks with your tongue, of course).
Focus Keeping With no points in this, you are nearly unable to strike vital points for great effect with both swords and spells. At the maximum of two points, you do so at a surprising rate.
Sneak With no points in this, you are as agile as anybody. At a height of three points, you manage to dodge blows and strike so early its almost as if you're always everywhere, but never in the wrong place.
Charismatic Flair With no points in this, you smell bad sometimes. At a maximum of five points, your way with words and natural beauty is so strong that you can inspire anybody to great effect, or even win them over to your side.
Nobility With no points in this, you are a simple middle-class person. At a full four points, you come from a rich family and are well-equipped with both the physical and social means to do well.
Battle Aid With no points in this, you are unable to take care of allies when they are in need. At three points, you can cure any illness with a few quick herbs. At a maximum of five points, you are able to restore their life energy easily.
Elite Guardianship With no points in this, you have a decent constitution and can take a few punches. At three points, you are a healthy as the oft-mentioned ox. At a full four points, you regenerate your life energy naturally.
Demonic Pact With no points in this, you are able to manage a few extreme feats before wearing out. At a height of three points, your servitude nets you so much vitality that you are bursting at the seams with power (immunity to sleeping effects may or may not be included in this package).
Monkwork With no points in this, you are as susceptible to diseases and mental charms as much as the next person. At a maximum of two points, your body and mind are honed to the point of near-perfection and are hard to penetrate with debilitating effects.
Merchant's Guile With no points in this, you get as much out of enemies as anybody does, even nobles. At a full two points, you get your money's worth out of fights (and maybe a little extra experience if your "customers" were particularily satisfied).
PENALTIES
Just a Poor Boy From a poor family, you cannot spend any points in Noblity or Merchant's Guile. Fights tend to give you less reward than usual and shopkeeps give you a hard time. Gain two points to change your luck.
Mage, no Duels You might be as magical as the House of Sun and Stars, but you can't really hold your own in a fight--one snap kick and you're gasping for air. You cannot spend any points in Elite Guardianship or Monkwork, gaining one point back.
Devil's Aria To qualify for this penalty, you must have at least one point in Demonic Pact. You gain one point for each point in Demonic Pact (essentially making it cost zero points), but the further you contact the underworld, the more and more chaotic your actions become....
Workaholic You aren't lazy. At all. In fact, you work so hard that you're easily caught by diseases and charms. No Monkwork for you. Your stress allows you two extra points.
Woodie Fister Don't you dare pick up that metal! That club--oh, no! You don't want to get in the way of nature, ever! Ignore the Weaponskill and Armorskill categories, and don't bother even trying to equip any weapons or protection. Gain two points.
Turtle Turtle You are clunky and slow. Seriously, get a move on! Gain one point--not this one, nor any, can be spent on Sneak.
Misplaced Focus To qualify for this penalty, you must have at least one point in Focus Keeping. You gain one point to spend (regardless of whether you put one or two points in Focus Keeping). Your attacks and offensive spells hit less often than normal, and even your healing sometimes doesn't work (although this is rare).

Did you want a character name and backstory and such to go with this? Or just a set of stats?
Edit:
Elite Guardianship and Demonic Pact appear to cancel out the Workaholic negative, somewhat...

To jump out of the fancy text, Elite Guardianship = HP/DEF, Demonic Pact = MP, Monkwork/Workaholic = status effect resist%.
Right, but diseases are status effects, right? So you can cancel out Workaholic's increased weakness to status effects with Demonic Pact, which increases resistance to those status effects. Workaholic then can potentially give you 2 free Demonic Pact points without the negative "Being possessed by the devil" thing.

1 point(s) - Weaponskill
2 point(s) - Focuskeeping
Make him wield a rapier, and give him a (figuratively) sharp tongue. Other then that, meh.

Chaos: He's Angelo the Prettyboi! Thanks for participating!
Asa: The immunity to sleep is a joke. Demonic Pact doesn't actually increase resistance (well, it MIGHT I guess since none of this is actually etched into some rock but yeah, as OP I say that it doesn't).
Also, for future reference, you aren't actually possessed unless you take the Devil's Aria penalty. Just having a Demonic Pact means you're a little creepy.

Right, but I was basically trying to get around using Devil's Aria and still gain the apparent benefits of Demonic Pact at a relatively cheap 1 point price, allowing me 9 to spend on other things.
If it's not as impressive as it sounds, then screw taking negatives. Most of those are pointless, really. Specially' the Misplaced Focus one. That one's a complete waste of time.
Edit: Unless I want to recreate Suikoden's own Viki, that is.

You're thinking about this from a purple max-min perspective, Asa! Options like that are there for people who are more into the RP aspect of RPGs and want to add a little flair to their character.
MODIFY: I am aware of the typo in this post and I am not changing it.

I understand that, Craze. The competitive gamer side of me kicks in sometimes to see the practical side of those, however. That doesn't make me LESS of an RP'er, as I do love to roleplay the negatives too!
Edit: When you say "At a maximum of _______ points" do you mean to say that is the cap on that skill? If the announced maximum is 2, does that mean I can't go beyond and add a third point?

"Angelo the Prettyboi"
He fills the "Balthier" niche in the party: the charmer, the beguiler, if you will. Sure, he goes down in a few hits - if you can hit him. You'll have to get around his constant flurry of blows from his rapier. He can hold of a good number of foes simultaneously and indefinitely - assuming they are humanoid and are wielding manufactured weapons; he's no good against beasts and gigantic opponents.

Ok, so assuming 2 is the max I can put on both Merchant's Guile and Trinket Skill:
Farias, a self-made rich inventor whose useful knick-knacks have changed the way people live. He works tirelessly on all sorts of gadgets from the extremely useful to the downright silly. He is also a shameless self-promoter, and makes sure to collect any profits he can from his works. He is definitely out to make a buck... although usually he just invests it mostly on his works, so it becomes a spiral of work, sell, make money to fund work, work. He enjoys the spotlight, however, and will make sure to draw as much attention to his inventions as he is able to. Kicks ass if you ever need someone to fix a weapon or make a new form of transportation and such for the party!
Nobility 4 (Maxed out)
Trinket Skill 2 (Maxed out)
Merchant's Guile 2(Maxed out)
Charismatic Flair 2
Utilitarianism 2

I'll give this a shot...
I'll do Necros XD
Demonic Pact 3
Focus Keeping 2
Weaponskill 5
Sneak 3
-Penalites-
Devil's Aria
A young boy from a fishing village, who was thrown into an ongoing war. He quickly learned the ways of the sword, but was rushed into his first battle far too soon. As he lay near death, He discovered a sword of dark power which spared his life, at a cost. Now slave to the shadows, he seeks to avenge his "death".
Was that ok for a first try? =D

Rank: Captain of the Knights
Skills

Armorskill- 2
Demonic Pact-2
Nobility- 2
Charismatic Flair- 2

Devil's Aria- 2
Description- Nobleman and Captain of the Knights, he wields a "Flamberge". It is said his weapon is infused with dark powers due to a pact with a demon he once defeated. His weaponship allows him to wield a sword which is his preference. His armorskill allows him to wear armor that is protecting yet is not to heavy. His demonic pact allows him to conjure up some dark powers and infuse it with his sword and use it on the battlefield. The Devil's Aria however sometimes allows him to lose control of himself when he used his Demonic pact to much. His nobility allows him to be recognize and he is allowed into commoner restricted areas. His charismatic flair allows him to use his charms to grant him be females guards or enemies, though it is not certain to work, he can also be referred to as slightly beautiful.

Description: A mysterious shadow, has never been given a name but some call it It. It appears when one least expects it, in places where It has the advantage, often reported as being clad in various odd trinkets, some appearing be magical. It is nearly impossible to hit, and It strikes quickly, its blows often finding vulnerabilities, though thankfully (Or unthankfully for It) It appears to get easily distracted whilst in the middle of its swing. Some who have been attacked by it and survived also report hearing odd clicking sounds and feeling compelled to come closer to It, while others to run away. The survivors also often are found without anything left, apparently it even takes the clothes off of their backs, much less leaving them with any gold. Little more has been found out about It, though there are rumors that this creature was once human, and was transformed by an ancient form of magic known as 'cheatcodes' gone awry.

This is amazing and is the kind of thing I do in real life all the time.
Modify: I mean with my friends, at parties, when I'm drunk, I make up whacky games like this for fun and everyone gets really into it.
Before I begin, clarify difference between deep and bright magic, please?

Okay, um, I'm double posting to get this alive again.
And I'm making Shadar, from DemonDestiny Legacy (:P Yes Nightblade that was an actual slip up I typed, not just griefing you, which probably makes it worse. :P) because A. he's an awesome character and B. I don't have any ideas for my own characters right now and C. you said this was mostly about the numbers anyway.
Now I don't have nearly enough points to make Shadar even as he appears in the first game so this is YOUNG/BABY SHADAR, I guess.

Weaponskill - 3 (5)
Armorskill - 2 (2)
Output Maxing - 4 (4)
Focus Keeping - 0 (2)
Sneak - 0 (3)
Elite Guardsmanship - 1 (4)
Once you deplete his HP down to 25% of his (relatively low) maximum, he metamorphoses into a grotesque, retching mass of tentacles surrounding a seraph-like figure floating above the party. He then proceeds to rape the party with a wide assortment of bladed weaponry. However, in seraph form he regenerates HP, and once he goes above 25% he morphs back. So, a good strategy would be to, once he transforms, start healing and defending, buffing and debuffing, allwing him to transform back. Once all of your buffs are in place, plow through him and his seraph form ftw.
