I'm trying to import my custom sprites into the game, particularly Faces. However the colors were all reversed and wrong in some places. The image is already in 256(8-BPP) and is in BMP format.
I looked it up and tried changing the image's colors using Graphicsgale according to the color palette of the System.bmp image I found.
The colors are still incorrect albeit in a different way.
Maybe there's another System.bmp file? I found this one in the BMP folder along with the others.
I know for sure that it's possible, I just need help along the way. I would appreciate it.

Does your new faces BMP use the same palette as the system.bmp in your game folder? That's the reference palette SRPG95 uses when it loads all other assets: The palette of the system.bmp in the game folder being played.

Is this the System.bmp you're referring to?
If so then I've already used Graphicsgale and did some palette swapping.

I already did everything that was written here"
But as it shows, the image's colors still looks distorted.
There are some default Faces already in the file. Are they the cause of the problem?

If the default faces aren't using the same palette it is possible they're causing issues. All graphics should share the same palette.
Yes, all graphics must this same pallete as System.bmp.
You must remember that you can only 236 custom colors - first 10 and last 10 colors in pallete is a systems colors, and this can't change: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_software_palettes
You can use this 20 colors, but this colors not change color with fade out, fade in, change screen colors commands.
