NEED HELP FINDING SOMETHING SPECIFIC...

So, there's this game I played from here a loooong while back (6-8 years ago, can't remember exactly), and in spite of me poring exhaustively over the site trying to find it again, I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it, only some key details. I kind of forgot about it until recently, but it's a good game. So, what I remember is...
- It's VERY heavily inspired by SMT... modern setting, demons, etc.
- Fruit cups are a healing item (lol).
- There are a good deal of playable characters.
- Main character is dark-skinned, I THINK wears a lot of red if I remember right, and his parents are dead.
- It includes at least one timeskip near the midgame (where I stopped playing the first time).
- It has a decent level of difficulty, from what I've experienced.
Normally I wouldn't enlist help to find a game, but I've spent hours looking through the site, and I cannot remember the name. Does any of this ring a bell for anybody? Any help is appreciated!

Not ringing any bells for me. Saying that, I wonder if also posting in this thread would be useful?
I think I've played what you're talking about, but I can't remember the name, either.
Edit: Yeah, I just went looking for it. I can't find it either. I think it was either 2k or 2k3 Tsukuru.

This sounds like Onyx by Yeaster.
Onyx
One of my favourite games (this, the sequel, Complete Chaos and Vanity all qualify for modern setting, demons, a large cast... but the dark skinned protagonist in red is here)
The game also has a sequel (Onyx 2, clinging soul) that in my opinion is even better (graphically and has even battlers) and more balanced. But play both, they are true classics!
I reviewed both ;)

Yes! This is it! Fantastic, I had no idea it was a proper series. Thanks a ton, I'll definitely give the sequel a go. For now, it's time to avenge my younger self by finally beating this. On another note... It says it was updated in 2019, but there's no real information on it. I wonder if it's anything major?

Maybe the page was update somewhere, the download is the same of 2008.
Sequel is good, but since you revisit old places and meet old friends, it's better playing the first before.
Oh and Yeaster (as usual!) included a nice guide that is really helpful especially in the beginning.
A "page update" could be just somebody posting a message, if I recall correctly. So, like, this review was a "page update" in a general sense, and the most recent message there seems to be where it's getting the "last updated" info from.
