REUPLOADING IMAGE WITH THE SAME NAME

I'm trying to reupload an image to my locker because the size was too big. It was reuploaded and the size refers to the smaller one, but the image doesn't seem to get any smaller. I also tried to delete and reupload the image but it doesn't seem to work. Any tips?
Change the name of the file. I've had this issue too. Don't delete things then try to load something with the same name ever ever ever...
If its called happy then rename it to happy1.
I've had moments where I've had a wrong/incorrect image, and the process I've literally always done is exactly what kory_toobms is telling you to not do: delete the old file, and upload the image I actually wanted to show with the same name. The key here is that you'll probably need to perform a hard-refresh for the change to kick in. I think this has something to do with the cache of your browser. A regular refresh would use the cache, and therefore call up the "old" image, whereas a hard-refresh would not.
It's fine. All you need to do is hard refresh. That is, shift-F5. It should also show the new image to people who haven't loaded the page before.
thanks for the reply everyone! i kinda forgot about this thread until someone pm-ed me about it. the image has become smaller now. not sure if it's because of server lag or the browser cache that requires a hard refresh, but i'll try to hard refresh next time to see if it solved the problem.
i'd rather to not delete the image and upload a new one with a different name because afaik, most websites usually don't delete things even though you delete them and since reuploading files with the same name in this site replaces existing files, i think it might help the site to reduce storage size from having unused images, but maybe that's just me.
