[RMXP] LAUNCHING THE EDITOR GIVES ME A BLACK SCREEN

So, originally, my PC's resolution was set to 640 x 480, and I could use RMXP perfectly fine. However, I didn't like the huge gray bars on both sides of my screen, so I looked up how to fix that. Now my resolution is 1280 x 720. When I launched RMXP again, I got an error saying I needed a 1024 x 768 resolution. After more perusing through Google, I found out my DPI settings were the problem, so I turned them off. Now, when I open RMXP, the screen goes completely black, and I have to physically restart my PC just to see anything. Anyone have a solution?
