I have mixed feelings about "Love Tactics: Joined Together" on a lot of levels. On a narrative side the idea of a pair of lovers healing each other when nearby and suffering agonizing pain while apart is a very simple but effective way to showcase that the two characters are lovers.
On the other hand the game seems rather flippant about the nature of their relationship with the two agreeing to allow a new woman into their relationship upon first meeting her.
Another major problem for me is that the game's leveling system is to easily abused. This is because Onyxia gets a shield skill she can use to protect Nenna that grants her 20 experience every time it is used. Nenna on the other hand gets a rescue staff that will summon Onyxia to her side for 20 experience points. This can be exploited on the game's first map since the boss of that stage is a defender that will try and chase the player from one side of the map to the other, but he obviously can't keep up with the girls. So it's easy for them to run circles around him for 30 minutes or so in order to get both girls up to level 20.
It's also a bit weird that the game doesn't cap the player at level 20. I was actually level 23 or 24 when I beat the game. And I was so over leveled the game's final boss couldn't even damage Onyxia when he connected.
On the other hand the basic mechanics are alright, but I'm guessing the developer relied on the default combat system that comes with SRPG since this game was made in 48 hours for GMTK 2021. A game jam that must have had a gay theme based on the characters shouting about gay rights at the end.
So I'm willing to cut this one a bit more slack than most considering it was an event game made within the confines of short development period. At the same time some of the flaws should have been foreseeable in my opinion so I see this project as being a 2.0 at most.

And I'm waiting for September 26 and the release of Wrath of the lich King classic! My favorite game. But I spend a lot of time at work and don't have time to rest, so my friend recommended WotLK Boost to me so that I could level my character.
